Technical description

Node.js < 12.22.9, < 14.18.3, < 16.13.2, and < 17.3.1 did not handle multi-value Relative Distinguished Names correctly. Attackers could craft certificate subjects containing a single-value Relative Distinguished Name that would be interpreted as a multi-value Relative Distinguished Name, for example, in order to inject a Common Name that would allow bypassing the certificate subject verification.Affected versions of Node.js that do not accept multi-value Relative Distinguished Names and are thus not vulnerable to such attacks themselves. However, third-party code that uses node's ambiguous presentation of certificate subjects may be vulnerable.

———Crawl4AI before 0.9.5 contains an improper certificate validation vulnerability that allows network attackers to intercept crawls because Chromium always launches with --ignore-certificate-errors. Man-in-the-middle or DNS-controlling attackers can serve forged content to the crawler and read cookies and headers sent, while hard-coded --no-sandbox also overrides CRAWL4AI_CHROMIUM_SANDBOX.3h
CVE-2026-106036—

———Szafir accepts any client or server certificate without performing certificate and hostname validation, allowing HTTPS connections without authenticating the remote server. An attacker can provide an arbitrary SSL/TLS certificate and cause the application to download an update file from their server. This issue was fixed in version 2.0 build 708.3h

——0When using the OpenSSL TLS implementation, both the pn_ssl_domain_set_trusted_ca_db() & pn_tls_config_set_trusted_certs() APIs added to rather than replaced the default system trust anchors. Leading to potentially trusting unexpected peer certificates. This can be worked around by setting the SSL_CERT_FILE environment variable for the application to /dev/null. This issue does not affect the Win32 SChannel TLS implementation. This issue affects Apache Qpid Proton C: through 0.40.0. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 0.41.1, which fixes the issue.4h

——0Improper certificate validation in Checkmk <2.5.0p18, <2.4.0p39, <2.3.0p52 and 2.2.0 (EOL): the Certificate Authority stores bundled with "certifi" and "webpki-roots" include a root CA that trusts eMudhra (emSign) intermediate certificates whose private keys are public.4h

——0KaringX ClashMi through 1.0.32.1801 disables TLS certificate validation by default in the HttpUtils helper, allowing attackers to intercept HTTPS traffic by presenting any certificate. Attackers operating the user's proxy node can serve a forged update manifest omitting sha256 to deliver a malicious installer, achieving code execution when the update runs.3h
CVE-2026-1166416.8 MED

——0The DB Tools rely on the TLS implementation in Golang’s standard library, which generally uses the system CA store. However, the crypto/x509 package also has its own internal denylist of known-bad CA certificates. Golang 1.27.3 adds the eMudhra certificates to this list. DB Tools version 100.19.0 was compiled with Golang 1.26.8, which does not include this check. The issue is resolved by updating to Golang 1.27.3 in DB Tools 100.20.03h
