Technical description

On affected platforms running Arista EOS with IPsec configured, a specially crafted packet can cause the dataplane to stop processing all IPsec traffic. The control plane may detect this condition, and attempt to reset the IPsec processing pipeline. After reset traffic may not resume being processed. There is no impact to non-IPsec traffic or to IPsec traffic not originating or terminating on the system. This issue was reported by an Arista customer.

4Http4s is a Scala interface for HTTP services. Prior to 0.23.35 and 1.0.0-M47, ResponseCookie.render writes attacker-influenced name, content, domain, path, and extension values without neutralizing semicolons or control characters. An application that constructs a ResponseCookie from unvalidated input can therefore emit injected cookie attributes such as Domain, Path, or SameSite, widening cookie scope or weakening protections, and control characters may enable header splitting on permissive backends. The patch strips control characters from all five fields and strips semicolons from name, content, domain, and path while retaining the extension delimiter behavior. This issue is fixed in versions 0.23.35 and 1.0.0-M47.5d

6Traefik is an open source HTTP reverse proxy and load balancer. Prior to 2.11.57, and 3.7.13, Traefik accepts a rootless HTTP/1 request target that Go stores in URL.Opaque while leaving URL.Path empty. The rewriteRequestBuilder path evaluates routing, path sanitization, forwardAuth, encodedCharacters, and access logging against a path normalized to / but forwards URL.Opaque verbatim to the backend, allowing cross-vhost routing bypass, path-scoped authorization bypass, and access-log evasion when the backend interprets the opaque target as a path. This issue is fixed in 2.11.57 and 3.7.13.7d

9xmldom is a pure JavaScript W3C standard-based (XML DOM Level 2 Core) DOMParser and XMLSerializer module. Prior to @xmldom/xmldom versions 0.8.15 and 0.9.12, and in xmldom version 0.6.0 and earlier, DOMParser.parseFromString() can silently accept an end tag such as </a\njunk>, close the element, and discard the trailing content. On 0.9.x, the lib/sax.js end-tag validator inherits the multiline flag from reg(), allowing the first line to satisfy the anchored XML ETag production; older lines have no equivalent residue validation. This parser differential can bypass a parse-before-trust well-formedness gate, although it does not inject the discarded content; onError on 0.9.x and errorHandler on 0.8.x are the relevant reporting interfaces. This issue is fixed in @xmldom/xmldom versions 0.8.15 and 0.9.12; no fixed version is available for xmldom.13d

9Mastodon is a free, open-source social network server based on ActivityPub. Prior to 4.4.21, 4.5.14, 4.6.4, and 4.7.0-beta.1, PrivateAddressCheck.private_address? in app/lib/private_address_check.rb normalized IPv4-mapped IPv6 addresses but did not recognize IPv4-compatible IPv6 addresses with IPAddr#ipv4_compat?. An attacker could supply an address in the omitted range to bypass the ALLOWED_PRIVATE_ADDRESSES protection and make Mastodon send HTTP requests to loopback interfaces, potentially accessing private resources and services. Exploitation requires a system that supports the obsolete IPv4-compatible IPv6 mechanism. This issue is fixed in versions 4.4.21, 4.5.14, 4.6.4, and 4.7.0-beta.1.12d
