Technical description

An out-of-bounds read vulnerability in the Qt CoAP message parsing (QCoapInternalReply::createFromFrame()) of the Qt CoAP module. Processing a malformed CoAP message can cause an application using Qt CoAP to crash (loss of availability) or to continue operating on incorrect data (potential loss of integrity).

——0Out-of-bounds read vulnerabilities in the pybddisasm Python bindings may disclose adjacent process memory during instruction decoding. The nd_decode function may read up to 15 bytes without checking the actual length of the supplied Python buffer. The nd_decode_ex, nd_decode_ex2, and nd_decode_with_context functions pass the caller-supplied buffer size to the decoder without validating it against the actual length of the Python buffer. Data read beyond the buffer may be exposed through nd_get_instrux_bytes, which returns a fixed-length list of 16 bytes. Exploitation requires an application to invoke the affected APIs with a short buffer or an oversized length and to expose the resulting bytes to an attacker. The pybddisasm package is no longer maintained.5h

——0A flaw was found in libslirp in icmp_forward_error(). When building an ICMP error response, the length of the quoted original IPv4 packet was taken from the IP header without clamping it to the actual buffer length. A truncated or malformed packet could cause an out-of-bounds heap read, leaking host memory into the ICMP error packet returned to a guest or container.13h

——0A flaw was found in hivex. By supplying a specially crafted Windows registry hive file, an attacker can trigger an out-of-bounds memory read when hivex parses registry values containing malformed large data block lists. This issue can cause the application processing the registry file to crash, resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS).16h

——0psqlODBC trusts counts and lengths in server data in three places. SQLBulkOperations uses a server-supplied row count in a size subtraction that can underflow. SQLStatistics iterates index keys using a server-supplied key count without bounding it to the fixed storage. Bytea octal decoding reads up to two bytes past the end of a truncated escape sequence. A server not trusted under current SSL settings can crash the client or make it read out of bounds. Versions before psqlODBC 18.00.0006 are affected.18h

——0The Sleuth Kit through 4.15.0 contains a heap out-of-bounds read vulnerability in hfs_load_extended_attrs() in tsk/fs/hfs.c that reads the decmpfs header without checking attribute length. Attackers can supply a crafted HFS+ image with a com.apple.decmpfs attr_size of 1 to 15 to read past the allocation and crash analysis tools like istat or icat.18h

——0Netpbm before 10.86.51, 11.x before 11.02.30, and 11.03 before 11.15.08 contains an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in the tgatoppm converter's get_pixel() function that uses unchecked pixel values as color map indexes. Attackers can supply a crafted color-mapped Targa file whose pixel values exceed the declared color map bounds to crash the converter or leak adjacent memory into the output image.19h
