Technical description

Incorrect authentication vulnerability in the TSplus Remote Access multi-factor authentication (MFA) mechanism. A remote attacker authenticated with valid first-factor credentials could bypass the second-factor verification because the authentication flow does not correctly apply the MFA validation result, allowing the attacker to complete the login without a valid second-factor token and gain access to protected applications and resources.

——0Gitea's OpenID connect handler accepts a user's password without enforcing enrolled TOTP or WebAuthn verification before completing sign-in and linking an OpenID identifier. When OpenID sign-in is enabled, an attacker who knows the victim's password can obtain a session and link an attacker-controlled identifier. The attacker can then sign in through that identifier without the victim's password or second factor, and a password change does not remove the link.1d

——9A missing check in LdapPasswordAuthenticator in component sshd-ldap in Apache MINA SSHD versions 1.2.0 to 2.19.0 or 3.0.0-M1 to 3.0.0-M5 bypassed authentication checks. Apache MINA SSHD is a Java library for client-side and server-side SSH. The optional sshd-ldap component provides support for integrating password and publickey authentication on the server side with an LDAP server. sshd-ldap is an optional component. SSH servers implemented with Apache MINA SSHD are affected only if they use sshd-ldap and do configure an LdapPasswordAuthenticator to be used for password authentication. Normal password authentication via the built-in mechanisms in sshd-core is _not_ affected by this vulnerability, which concerns only LdapPasswordAuthenticator. Users are recommended to upgrade affected applications to version 2.20.0 or 3.0.0-M6, which fix this issue.15d

——7Apache MINA SSHD is a Java library for client-side and server-side SSH. SSH servers can be configured to require multi-authentication schemes, for instance two different public keys, not just one. In OpenSSH, this would be done by setting in sshd_config AuthenticationMethods "publickey, publickey". Apache MINA SSHD provides an equivalent configuration mechanism. In Apache MINA SSHD versions up to 2.19.0 and 3.0.0-M1 to 3.0.0-M5 the server code in component sshd-core does not enforce that the two public keys presented are different. A user can thus successfully authenticate with only one of the two key pairs required by presenting this single key twice. This is a partial authentication bypass. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 2.20.0 or 3.0.0-M6, which fix this issue.15d

——7grav-plugin-login (the Grav CMS Login plugin) versions >= 3.8.7 and < 3.9.7 allow the two-factor authentication challenge to be bypassed for content gated by the authenticated() Twig function or the [authenticated] shortcode. On sites with 2FA enabled, Login::isAuthenticated() checked only the session flag indicating that the password step had succeeded, not the flag indicating that login had completed, so a session sitting at the 2FA code prompt was treated as fully authenticated. An attacker who knows a member's password but cannot answer that member's second factor can therefore read member-only content rendered by the no-argument authenticated() or group authenticated(null, 'group') forms and by [authenticated]; the inverse [guest] shortcode is likewise evaluated too early. Impact is limited to disclosure of that content: the attacker does not obtain a completed session, cannot access pages protected by an access: rule, and cannot act as the user. The authenticated('some.permission') form, which goes through UserObject::authorize(), is not affected. Fixed in grav-plugin-login 3.9.7.17d

——11devpi is a Python package index staging server and packaging, testing, and release tool. Prior to 6.20.2 and 7.0.0b3, a server configured with the primary or deprecated master role allows an unauthenticated, modified GET request to the +changelog route because verify_primary does not reject a missing identity and therefore fails to require ReplicaIdentity. The response can disclose complete database content, including Argon2 password hashes and identifiers and salts for devpi-tokens; exposed hashes may be subject to dictionary attacks, and public tokens may assist attempts to derive the server secret. Large responses can also consume significant CPU, input/output capacity, and bandwidth. Servers using the standalone role are not exposed through replication, and an instance served exclusively through nginx with devpi-lockdown redirects the request to login with no known exploit. This issue is fixed in devpi-server versions 6.20.2 and 7.0.0b3.15d
