Technical description

Vvveb is a powerful and easy to use CMS with page builder to build websites, blogs or ecommerce stores. In versions 1.0.8.6 and prior, the nextRestore() and nextBackup() functions in the backup controller accept a file GET parameter and concatenate it directly to DIR_BACKUP without calling sanitizeFileName(). This allows an authenticated administrator to read arbitrary files on the server (via nextRestore) and write SQL dump content to arbitrary locations (via nextBackup). This is inconsistent with the sibling functions restore(), delete(), and download() which all correctly call sanitizeFileName() first. This issue has been patched via commit aa29cb0.

——18The Super Forms – Drag & Drop Form Builder plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Directory Traversal in all versions up to, and including, 6.3.316 via the parse_request function. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to read the contents of arbitrary files on the server, which can contain sensitive information. The optional 'file_upload_auth' setting defaults to empty, meaning no authentication is required in the default configuration; enabling this setting mitigates unauthenticated exploitation but does not remediate the path traversal itself. Exploitation on Linux requires a real 13-digit timestamp directory to exist, whereas on Windows the traversal works with any hardcoded 13-digit prefix. However, the plugin's file upload response returns the name of the created directory, which means the vulnerability is exploitable as long as file upload is enabled on the form.21d

——14In Splunk Enterprise versions below 10.4.2, 10.2.6, 10.0.9, and 9.4.14, a user who does not hold the "admin" or "power" Splunk roles could move files that the user account running Splunk Enterprise can read into a lookup that the user controls. The user could then access all relevant data and affect system integrity and availability on the search head. The vulnerability is possible because the lookup configuration endpoint does not resolve lookup source paths before checking whether they stay inside the allowed lookup staging area. For more information see About lookups (https://help.splunk.com/en/splunk-enterprise/manage-knowledge-objects/knowledge-management-manual/10.4/use-lookups-in-splunk-web/about-lookups) and Define roles on the Splunk platform with capabilities (https://help.splunk.com/en/splunk-enterprise/administer/manage-users-and-security/10.4/manage-splunk-platform-users-and-roles/define-roles-on-the-splunk-platform-with-capabilities) in the Splunk documentation.57d

——9A vulnerability has been identified in SINEC INS (All versions < V1.0 SP2 Update 6). The affected application does not properly sanitize path input in the `GET /api/sftp/uploadFiles` endpoint used for directory listing. This allows path traversal through crafted input, enabling access to unintended file system locations.93d

——24A vulnerability in the web-based management interface of Cisco Firepower Management Center (FMC) Software could allow an authenticated, remote attacker to perform a directory traversal attack on an affected device. The attacker would require valid device credentials. The vulnerability is due to insufficient input validation of the HTTPS URL by the web-based management interface. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted HTTPS request that contains directory traversal character sequences to an affected device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to read or write arbitrary files on the device.73d
