Technical description

When dispatching SASL frames to authenticate the peer, Proton will also dispatch AMQP frames if they claim to be SASL frames. This allows authentication bypass. However there will be no user name set so the effects depend on how the application deals with this condition - which otherwise means that authentication has not completed yet. This issue affects Apache Qpid Proton C: through 0.40.0. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 0.41.1, which fixes the issue.

——6A misconfiguration issue in the affected service in Control-M/Enterprise Manager and Control-M/Server may allow unauthenticated remote users to access certain service functionality, which could potentially result in information exposure or affect service availability. ——17BMC Helix Network Management on-prem 26.3.00 before 26.3.01 contains an authentication bypass vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to log in as the local administrator with any password when SAML single sign-on is configured. Attackers can submit the administrator username with an arbitrary password on the web login page to obtain a SuperAdmin session, modify device credentials, run device commands, and alter audit records.10d

——11Nginx UI is a web user interface for the Nginx web server. From 2.0.0 until 2.5.0, POST /api/login checks EnabledOTP but does not require a WebAuthn assertion when EnabledPasskey is true and no TOTP secret is configured. A passkey-only account is therefore issued a session after password verification, despite Enabled2FA reporting that the account has a second factor. An attacker who obtains the password can take over the account and reach administrative functionality without the registered passkey. This issue is fixed in version 2.5.0.9d

——10When Gitea's built-in SSH server is enabled (`START_SSH_SERVER = true`), the presented public key was looked up with an SQL `LIKE` comparison of its encoded content, which is case-insensitive on some databases, including the default SQLite. An attacker who can construct a case variant of another user's registered RSA public key for which they can derive the private key could have that key matched to the victim's account and authenticate over SSH as that user. Keys are now looked up by fingerprint.15d

——9Authentication bypass via LDAP injection in component sshd-ldap in Apache MINA SSHD versions 1.2.0 to 2.19.0 and 3.0.0-M1 to 3.0.0-M5. Apache MINA SSHD is a Java library for client-side and server-side SSH. The optional sshd-ldap component provides support for integrating password and publickey authentication on the server side with an LDAP server. sshd-ldap is an optional component. SSH servers implemented with Apache MINA SSHD are affected only if they use sshd-ldap and do configure it to be used for password of public key authentication. Other Apache MINA SSHD servers are not affected. Lack of escaping LDAP filter metacharacters enabled successful authentication with username "*" and password "*". Users are recommended to upgrade affected applications to version 2.20.0 or 3.0.0-M6, which fix this issue by properly escaping filter parameters according to RFC 4515.30d
