Technical description

The hickory-net crate in Hickory DNS 0.26.0-beta.1 before 0.26.2 allows DNSSEC validation bypass because Name's Hash ignores label lengths and ValidationCacheKey compares only that hash. An attacker controlling an unsigned delegation whose name differs from a signed target only in dot positions can prime an Insecure verdict, causing forged answers for the target to skip signature verification instead of returning SERVFAIL.

——3The MongoDB C# Driver compares TLS client certificates by issuer and serial number only when deciding whether two clients can share cached connections. In an application that creates clients from certificates supplied by different users, a user who provides a certificate copying another user's issuer and serial number, without that user's private key, can be given connections authenticated with the other user's certificate. Database operations can then run under the other user's identity, affecting the confidentiality and integrity of data that identity can access.6d

——7A flaw was found in SSSD. In trust-enabled identity management environments, SSSD evaluates Host-Based Access Control (HBAC) rules by stripping domain qualifiers and comparing only short usernames. An authenticated user in a trusted domain who shares the same username as an authorized local account can bypass access policies and gain unauthorized access to protected services or hosts.3d

——11Missing release of resource after effective lifetime, Comparison using wrong factors vulnerability in Apache Tomcat allows a denial of service as a result of lost time outs for asynchronous WebSocket writes. This issue affects Apache Tomcat: from 11.0.0-M1 through 11.0.25, from 10.1.0-M1 through 10.1.59, from 9.0.0.M1 through 9.0.121. The following versions were EOL at the time the CVE was created but are known to be affected: from 8.5.0 through 8.5.100, from 7.0.43 through 7.0.109. Other unsupported versions may also be affected. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 11.0.26, 10.1.60 or 9.0.122, which fix the issue.46d

——11In OpenStack Blazar before 17.0.1, the V2 lease API does not enforce object-level authorization on its update and delete operations (PUT /v2/leases/{lease_id} and DELETE /v2/leases/{lease_id}). The policy authorize() wrapper attempts to load the target lease to build the authorization target from its owner, but it looks up the lease under the keyword "lease_id" whereas the controller methods name the parameter "id" (and the wsme_pecan.wsexpose wrapper delivers it positionally). The lookup returns None, and thus authorization falls back to the requesting user's own project_id/user_id instead of the target lease owner. Any authenticated user who knows a lease ID can therefore modify or delete leases belonging to other users and projects, bypassing the intended ownership check.47d
