Technical description

A privilege escalation security issue exists within FactoryTalk® Activation Manager. The security issue stems from custom actions in the installer that spawn visible console windows running with SYSTEM privileges during installation or repair operations. An authenticated attacker with Windows credentials could hijack these console windows to obtain a SYSTEM-level command prompt, allowing full access to all files, processes, and system resources.

CVE-2026-658257.5 HIG

——0OpenReception's appointment booking software provides an end-to-end encrypted appointment booking platform. In versions 2.1.0 and prior, a returning client's six-digit booking PIN can be brute-forced online in the victim tenant. A successful guess yields the client's booking access token, granting access to that client's appointment tunnel, which holds their end-to-end-encrypted appointment data, and the ability to act as the client, for example adding or cancelling appointments in the tunnel. The bypass is cross-tenant: state owned by one tenant removes an authentication protection of a different tenant. This crossing of the tenant boundary is the basis for the scope-changed vector. At time of publication, there are no publicly available patches.1d

——7ApostropheCMS is an open-source Node.js content management system. Prior to 4.33.0, the self-service password-change endpoint verifies the current password but does not use the login module’s failed-attempt counter, throttle, delay, or lockout mechanism. An attacker with a valid authenticated session can submit repeated guesses for the current password without receiving a lockout or throttle response. This issue is fixed in version 4.33.0.3d

——3A vulnerability in the proprietary protocol could allow an attacker to brute force the administrator password without restrictions, even when the SafeEnhancement feature is enabled.4d
CVE-2024-23234.8 MED

——2The RemoteUserStoreManagerService does not sufficiently validate password change attempts when the password history validation feature is enabled. This oversight allows an attacker to repeatedly attempt password guesses for a user account without being adequately restricted. Exploiting this vulnerability enables an attacker to discover a user's password through brute force, leading to account impersonation. The success rate of such an attack is influenced by the complexity of the targeted user's password, with simpler passwords increasing the likelihood of compromise.4d
CVE-2026-111056—

——6FOSSBilling is an open source billing and client-management platform. From 0.1.0 until 0.8.7, the unauthenticated POST /api/guest/client/create endpoint reveals whether a submitted email belongs to a registered client because guest signup returns a distinct unredacted error when the submitted email already exists. The trigger is an unauthenticated request to POST /api/guest/client/create with a target email address. An attacker can compare the guest-signup response for a target email to determine whether the email belongs to an existing FOSSBilling client. Box\Mod\Client\Api\Guest::create returns the error after Client\Service::clientAlreadyExists finds a matching record, and the API response exposes that exception message without redaction. This issue is fixed in version 0.8.7.3d

——12A flaw has been found in OpenCATS 0.10.0. Affected is the function processLogin of the file modules/careers/CareersUI.php of the component Career Portal. This manipulation of the argument applyToJobSubAction causes improper restriction of excessive authentication attempts. Remote exploitation of the attack is possible. A high degree of complexity is needed for the attack. The exploitability is told to be difficult. The exploit has been published and may be used. Patch name: 1cf4fa3ee9054314b023be79d404078645c22ade. It is suggested to install a patch to address this issue. The project maintainer explains: "Candidates will now need to authenticate each time they access the Career Portal and successfully complete the CAPTCHA as part of that authentication flow. The authenticated candidate identity is now maintained server-side rather than relying on the previous persistent client-side cats…cw cookie mechanism. Application-level rate limiting is deliberately not in scope for this change. In my view, request throttling and brute-force protection of that kind are better applied at the network, reverse-proxy or web-server layer, where they can be configured appropriately for each deployment without OpenCATS having to implement and maintain its own rate-limiting framework. I'll update the online documentation to that effect."5d
