Technical description

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: mt76: mt7921: fix potential deadlock in mt7921_roc_abort_sync roc_abort_sync() can deadlock with roc_work(). roc_work() holds dev->mt76.mutex, while cancel_work_sync() waits for roc_work() to finish. If the caller already owns the same mutex, both sides block and no progress is possible. This deadlock can occur during station removal when mt76_sta_state() -> mt76_sta_remove() -> mt7921_mac_sta_remove() -> mt7921_roc_abort_sync() invokes cancel_work_sync() while roc_work() is still running and holding dev->mt76.mutex. This avoids the mutex deadlock and preserves exactly-once work ownership.

——6VaadinService.requestEnd() in Vaadin Framework 8 locks the session and then reads the v-uiId request parameter outside the block that releases the lock. A request carrying a non-numeric v-uiId makes Integer.parseInt throw while the session lock is held, so the lock is never released and the container thread returns to its pool still owning it. Every later request to that session then blocks forever in VaadinService.lockSession(), and repeating the request exhausts the thread pool and takes the application down. No authentication is required: a session cookie, which any client obtains with a single request, is enough. Vaadin 10 and later are not affected, because Flow releases the lock in a finally block and does not read that parameter there, and Vaadin Framework 7 is not affected either. Users of affected versions should apply the following mitigation or upgrade. Releases that have fixed this issue include: Product version Vaadin Framework 8.16.0 - 8.32.1 Mitigation Upgrade to 8.32.2 Vaadin Framework 7 and Vaadin 10 and later do not carry this behaviour and need no upgrade for this issue. ——2DBI versions before 1.656 for Perl hang on a later open of a DBD::DBM table because a failed open_data does not release the table's lock. open_data creates the table's lock file and takes an exclusive flock on it for a CREATE, before the checks that can croak: a dbm_mldbm value that is not a module name, a failing tie, or a missing data file. The croak unwinds before the table object is blessed, so nothing releases the lock, and the meta data holding the open descriptor stays cached on the database handle. The dbm_mldbm and dbm_type values come from the DSN or the connect attributes, so a caller that chooses the serializer or the storage backend can trigger the failure. The flock has no timeout, so a later open of that table (even through a separate database handle) blocks for as long as the handle holding the stale lock lives, in the same process or any other.5d

——0IBM i 7.3, 7.4, 7.5, and 7.6 is vulnerable to a denial of service to Digital Certificate Manager (DCM) for System TLS using applications attempting to create secure network connections. A bad actor could use this to prevent a service from starting or cause it to fallback to non-secure connections.2d

——4When a Gitea Actions run was inserted, older runs in the same workflow-level concurrency group were cancelled without checking whether the new run still needed approval. Because fork pull request runs are inserted under the base repository, a user who can open a pull request from a fork could cancel trusted in-progress runs that share a concurrency group with `cancel-in-progress` enabled, without approval and without running any code. On self-hosted runners this can interrupt deployments and leave partial state behind.11d

——4Nezha Dashboard from 1.8.0 before 2.3.13 contains an improper locking vulnerability where a non-deferred mutex unlock leaks on a nil-map panic path. Any authenticated non-admin member can issue four notification API calls to permanently deadlock the alerting subsystem, then exhaust memory with blocking requests.20d

——0In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: staging: fbtft: make dirty_lock IRQ-safe fbtft_mkdirty() can be reached from the fbcon rendering path while processing printk() in hardirq context. Meanwhile, dirty_lock is also taken by fbtft_deferred_io() in workqueue context with local interrupts enabled. Lockdep reports a possible IRQ lock inversion involving dirty_lock and console_owner. A hardirq can interrupt a CPU holding dirty_lock and enter the console rendering path, which can attempt to acquire dirty_lock again. The following lockdep report was observed on an RK3566 system with CONFIG_PROVE_LOCKING enabled: WARNING: possible irq lock inversion dependency detected swapper/2/0 just changed the state of lock: (console_owner){-...}-{0:0} but this lock took another, HARDIRQ-unsafe lock in the past: (&par->dirty_lock){+.+.}-{2:2} CPU0 CPU1 ---- ---- lock(&par->dirty_lock); local_irq_disable(); lock(console_owner); lock(&par->dirty_lock); <Interrupt> lock(console_owner); *** DEADLOCK *** Use spin_lock_irqsave() for fbtft_mkdirty() and spin_lock_irq() for fbtft_deferred_io(). They only access the dirty line range, so the IRQ-off regions remain short.2d
