Technical description

Yeti bridges the gap between CTI and DFIR practitioners by providing a Forensics Intelligence platform and pipeline. In version 2.5.0 and earlier, YETI directly interpolates user-controlled sorting fields and filter_aliases attribute paths into ArangoDB AQL identifier and expression positions in core/database_arango.py. A low-privileged authenticated user can send crafted values to POST /api/v2/observables/search, POST /api/v2/entities/search, POST /api/v2/indicators/search, POST /api/v2/dfiq/search, POST /api/v2/search/, or POST /api/v2/graph/search, causing attacker-controlled AQL subexpressions to be parsed and evaluated. This can provide an error oracle, evaluate expressions against internal collections such as users, alter intended search logic, enumerate schema information, and consume excessive database resources. The verified injection points are read and search contexts, so arbitrary database writes are not established. No fixed version is available as of this review.

———The MongoDB Entity Framework Core provider does not neutralize special elements when it places a caller-supplied value into a bulk update that is expressed as a databasea result, a value supplied as plain data may be interpreted by the database as expression syntax. A part value through normal application input may causeunintended modification of fields in the records the application is updating, and may cause data already held in those records to be relocated into other fields of the same record.9h

——15Jpom 2.10.0 through 2.11.12 contains an authentication bypass vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to gain super-administrator access by injecting query conditions into the JPOM-USER-TOKEN header. Attackers can send a value like 'is not null', which Hutool's Condition parser treats as an operator, then execute commands through Jpom's script features.2d

——4n8n before 1.123.85, 2.x before 2.43.5, and 2.44.x before 2.44.1 contains a filter injection vulnerability in the Quick Base node, which sends the Where filter to the Quick Base API as raw query text. Attackers supplying untrusted input such as webhook data used to build the filter can make Get Many return every record or Delete remove every record with the workflow credential's privileges.5d

——7n8n before 1.123.85, 2.x before 2.43.5, and 2.44.x before 2.44.1 contains an OData $filter injection vulnerability in the Microsoft Outlook contact lookup and Microsoft SharePoint v1 item update nodes, which build $filter string literals from expression-bindable parameters without escaping. Attackers who supply untrusted input to such workflows can inject single quotes to dump the bound mailbox's entire contact list or redirect SharePoint writes onto unintended list items within the stored credential's scope.5d

——3A BSON encoding component of the MongoDB Java Driver does not verify that an externally supplied raw document's self-declared length agrees with the extent of the byte range it is given before that range is copied into an outgoing database command. An application that wraps untrusted raw bytes in such a document and uses it as part of a command can therefore emit a structurally inconsistent message, causing the database to interpret attacker-supplied trailing content as additional fields of the surrounding command. No authentication to the driver or database is required beyond the ability to influence those bytes through the victim application, and no user interaction is needed. The result is unintended modification of the command actually executed, which can alter the data read or written under the application's credentials.6d

——5Waline is a comment system with backend support. Prior to version 1.41.1, the login endpoint POST /api/token reads the email field from the request body without checking its type and passes it straight into the MongoDB storage query. When email is not a string (for example a JSON object such as {"$ne": null}), the MongoDB storage adapter's parseWhere silently DROPS the field rather than rejecting the request, producing an empty filter that matches ALL users. The endpoint then verifies the submitted password against the FIRST user returned (user[0]), which in Waline is the first-registered user — the site administrator. This is a PARTIAL authentication bypass, not a full one. The attacker still needs a valid password for that first user; this is not a zero-knowledge bypass and it does not disclose passwords. Its concrete effects are: (1) the email/identifier factor is removed for the administrator account, (2) user enumeration (a non-string email never fails the "no such user" branch), and (3) credential-stuffing amplification — an attacker can test a leaked or weak password against the administrator account without knowing the administrator's email. This issue has been patched in version 1.41.1.1d
