Technical description

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf, sockmap: reject overflowing copy + len in bpf_msg_push_data() When the scatterlist ring is full or nearly full, bpf_msg_push_data() enters a copy fallback path and computes copy + len for the page allocation size. Since len comes from BPF with arg3_type = ARG_ANYTHING and both are u32, a crafted len can wrap the sum to a small value, causing an undersized allocation followed by an out-of-bounds memcpy. BUG: unable to handle page fault for address: ffffed104089a402 Oops: Oops: 0000 [#1] SMP KASAN NOPTI Call Trace: __asan_memcpy (mm/kasan/shadow.c:105) bpf_msg_push_data (net/core/filter.c:2852 net/core/filter.c:2788) bpf_prog_9ed8b5711920a7d7+0x2e/0x36 sk_psock_msg_verdict (net/core/skmsg.c:934) tcp_bpf_sendmsg (net/ipv4/tcp_bpf.c:421 net/ipv4/tcp_bpf.c:584) __sys_sendto (net/socket.c:2206) do_syscall_64 (arch/x86/entry/syscall_64.c:94) entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe (arch/x86/entry/entry_64.S:130) Add an overflow check before the allocation.

CVE-2026-111496—

———Kafka Streams derives its stream-time clock from record timestamps. PunctuationSchedule.next() computed the next punctuation time as timestamp + (intervalsMissed + 1) * interval with no overflow check. A record with a timestamp at or near Long.MAX_VALUE advances stream time to that value, so the next stream-time punctuation overflows to a negative time. PunctuationQueue then re-queues that time and loops on it indefinitely while holding a lock, stalling the StreamThread. Impact: A single record is enough. The affected StreamThread stops processing, and because the record stays in the topic the hang returns on restart; an application whose partitions are all affected becomes unresponsive. Only the Streams application is affected, not the brokers or the cluster. Triggering it needs write access to a source topic whose topology uses stream-time punctuation, and a broker that stores the record: brokers from Apache Kafka 4.0.0 reject such a timestamp by default (log.message.timestamp.after.max.ms, one hour), so it is reachable only on older brokers or where that bound has been relaxed. Mitigation: Upgrade Kafka Streams to 4.2.2, 4.3.2, or 4.4.0. As defense in depth, keep log.message.timestamp.after.max.ms bounded on source topics and restrict write access to them. Resolution: From Apache Kafka 4.2.2, 4.3.2, and 4.4.0: the next punctuation time is computed with overflow-checked arithmetic (clamped to Long.MAX_VALUE), and a rescheduled punctuation is re-queued only when its time moves forward.15h

——0libexpat through 2.9.0 contains a signed integer overflow vulnerability in storeAtts() in lib/xmlparse.c that allows attackers to trigger out-of-bounds writes via oversized attribute counts. Attackers can supply a multi-gigabyte document with a start tag carrying over 2^30 attributes to overflow attIndex and nPrefixes, crashing applications or corrupting heap memory.20h

——0Assimp through 6.0.5 contains an integer overflow vulnerability in MD2Importer::ValidateHeader() that allows attackers to bypass frame table bounds checks using crafted header fields. Attackers can supply a malicious .md2 file whose numFrames and numVertices values wrap the 32-bit size check, causing heap out-of-bounds reads that crash applications or expose adjacent heap memory.20h
