npm-check-updates through 23.0.2, fixed in commit b554b84, contains a terminal escape sequence injection vulnerability that allows an attacker to embed arbitrary terminal control characters in a dependency's package.json homepage or repository URL fields. When a developer runs ncu with the --format homepage or --format repo option, unfiltered escape sequences are written directly to the terminal, enabling malicious output manipulation or other terminal-dependent effects.

CVE-2026-72913——
———Kitty is a cross-platform GPU based terminal. Prior to 0.48.2, the @kitty-echo and @kitty-ssh DCS handlers in kitty/window.py write unauthenticated data to the child shell's stdin, where handle_remote_echo accepts printable shell command characters and handle_remote_ssh calls get_ssh_data in kittens/ssh/utils.py, which emits a newline; chaining the handlers can execute attacker-controlled commands when a user displays untrusted terminal data. This issue is fixed in version 0.48.2.6hCVE-2026-64654—51.1%
——15GitHub CLI (gh) is GitHub's official command line tool. Prior to version 2.97.0, multiple GitHub CLI commands printed externally controlled gist, API, pull request, release, codespace, skill, or agent-task content without neutralizing terminal escape sequences. An attacker who can influence that content can embed escape sequences that are interpreted by the terminal of a user who runs an affected command, with impact ranging from cosmetic manipulation of the title or on-screen content to, on some terminal emulators, command execution. This extends the same class of issue as CVE-2026-45803—which addressed only gh run view --log—to the other affected command paths. This issue is fixed in version 2.97.0.3dCVE-2026-398797.1 HIG6.8%
——2Due to a missing sanitization call in [`afsql_dd_run_query`](https://github.com/syslog-ng/syslog-ng/blob/649e6e18e3459fb4467000a88dfb12fa97f9719c/modules/afsql/afsql.c#L219), syslog-ng before 4.12 are vulnerable to SQL injection from an untrusted source. This is not part of the default configuration, the SQL driver has to be manually configured.
Fixes are in syslog-ng 4.12, syslog-ng Premium Edition 8.2 and syslog-ng Store Box 7.818dCVE-2026-629489.6 CRI28.5%
——9OpenWrt is a Linux operating system targeting embedded devices. Prior to 25.12.5, odhcpd writes a DHCPv6 client FQDN option 39 hostname into /tmp/odhcpd.leases through src/statefiles.c statefiles_write_state6() and statefiles_write_state4() without escaping, allowing newline injection of forged lease lines that LuCI rpcd-mod-luci getDHCPLeases displays through htdocs/luci-static/resources/view/status/include/40_dhcp.js and htdocs/luci-static/resources/luci.js dom.append as live HTML in the Active DHCPv6 Leases admin page. This vulnerability is fixed in 25.12.5.20dCVE-2026-491477.5 HIG25.5%
——8App::Ack versions through 3.10.0 for Perl print unsanitised terminal escape sequences from filenames in several output modes.
When ack prints a filename whose basename contains terminal control bytes such as ANSI escape sequences, those bytes reach the terminal unchanged. Version 3.10.0 added a _safe_filename helper that sanitises the filenames printed by -f, -g, the colored match heading, and per-match lines, but the --show-types, -l/-L, and -c paths still emit the raw filename.
A file whose name embeds cursor-movement or color escapes can overwrite or recolor earlier terminal output, or be passed unchanged to a downstream consumer.33dCVE-2026-467417.5 HIG17.8%
——5Etsy::StatsD versions through 1.002002 for Perl allow metric injections.
The metric names and values are not checked for newlines, colons or pipes. Metrics generated from untrusted sources could inject additional statsd metrics.
Note that the git repository contains an unreleased version with the gauge and set methods that also do not check for potential metric injections.19d
