Technical description

Versions of the package jsondiffpatch before 0.7.6 are vulnerable to Prototype Pollution via the jsondiffpatch.patch() and jsondiffpatch/formatters/jsonpatch.patch() APIs. An attacker can perform prototype pollution by supplying crafted delta or JSON Patch documents, as attacker-controlled property names and path segments are used to traverse and modify objects without restricting access to special properties like __proto__ or constructor.prototype, allowing modification of Object.prototype.

9deepmerge through 4.3.1 contains a prototype poisoning vulnerability in the mergeObject() function that fails to properly validate keys being written to target objects. Attackers can supply malicious source objects in merge operations to inject attacker-controlled properties into the returned object's prototype, causing applications to inherit unintended values when accessing properties without own-property checks.3d

5Builder.io Gen2 SDKs through versions 5.2.11 and 0.25.13 contain a prototype pollution vulnerability in the unflatten helper that processes builder.userAttributes query parameters without prototype guards. Attackers can craft preview links with __proto__ or prototype segments to pollute Object.prototype in a visitor's browser when the SDK processes the malicious URL.5d

9Builder.io Gen2 SDKs through versions 5.2.11 and 0.25.13 contain a prototype pollution vulnerability in the deep-set helper function that processes content block bindings without validation. Attackers can craft content blocks with binding keys containing __proto__, prototype, or constructor paths to pollute Object.prototype during rendering, affecting all subsequent objects created in the process including other tenants' renders.4d

8node-opcua is an OPC UA implementation for TypeScript and Node.js. Prior to node-opcua-client 2.145.0, the internal fieldsToJson method in packages/node-opcua-client/source/alarms_and_conditions/client_alarm.ts directly assigns unsanitized field names and allows a __proto__.pollutedKey path to modify Object.prototype. Successful exploitation requires an application to expose attacker-controlled event fields to fieldsToJson and may cause denial of service or application logic corruption. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.145.0.3d

9flat-to-nested converts a hierarchy from a flat representation to a nested representation. Prior to 1.1.2, FlatToNested.prototype.convert in index.js uses attacker-influenced id and parent record fields directly as keys in the plain temp and pendingChildOf objects. When parent or id is __proto__, temp[parent] can resolve to Object.prototype, and initPush() can write attacker-controlled data to the global children prototype property while existing prototype methods remain intact. Any application that passes attacker-influenced flat records to convert() can therefore expose unrelated objects to polluted inherited state, causing application-logic corruption or denial of service and potentially enabling greater impact when a downstream prototype-pollution gadget is present. The constructor and prototype strings are also unsafe inherited-key values in the same lookup design. This issue is fixed in version 1.1.2.7d

11gettext-converter provides gettext resource conversion utilities for JavaScript. Prior to 1.3.3, js2i18next() in lib/js2i18next.js splits nested translation keys using options.keyseparator, whose default value consists of two number signs, and uses each segment as a dynamic object key without rejecting __proto__, constructor, or prototype. When an application converts untrusted PO or i18next translation data, a __proto__ segment resolves Object.prototype as the nested write target and Object.assign writes attacker-controlled translated properties onto the process-wide prototype. The resulting prototype pollution can cause denial of service and may enable application-dependent follow-on attacks. This issue is fixed in version 1.3.3.7d
