A flaw was found in libmodulemd. In builds with rpmio support enabled, compressed modulemd YAML is decompressed through a custom read handler that does not enforce a cumulative decompressed-size limit before parsing. An attacker who can supply a highly compressible compressed YAML file can cause excessive CPU and memory consumption, resulting in a denial of service.

CVE-2026-93471——
———Improper Handling of Highly Compressed Data (Data Amplification) in esaml_binding in dropbox esaml allows an unauthenticated attacker to exhaust server memory and crash the Erlang VM via a crafted compressed SAMLResponse.
esaml_binding:decode_response/2 base64-decodes the attacker-supplied SAMLResponse, inflates it with zlib:unzip/1 with no bound on the output, then converts the result to a charlist with binary_to_list/1 before parsing. This runs on the SAML consume (ACS) and single-logout endpoints, which accept unauthenticated requests by design, and it runs before any signature check. A small deflate stream reaches a compression ratio near 1000 to 1, so a request body of tens of kilobytes inflates to hundreds of megabytes and then to several gigabytes of list heap, so a few requests exhaust memory and take the node down.
This issue affects esaml: from 0.1.0 onward.10hCVE-2026-96637——
———Pillow is a Python imaging library. Prior to 13.0.0, SpiderImageFile.seek() in src/PIL/SpiderImagePlugin.py reparses a later SPIDER stack frame and replaces self._size without rerunning Image._decompression_bomb_check(). A tiny file can use a safe first frame to pass Image.open() and then declare very large dimensions in a later mode F frame. Loading that frame allocates approximately four bytes per attacker-declared pixel and can consume multiple gigabytes of memory. This issue is fixed in version 13.0.0.22hCVE-2026-966366.5 MED—
———Pillow is a Python imaging library. Prior to 13.0.0, MpoImageFile.seek() and DcxImageFile.seek() reparse later MPO or DCX frames and replace self._size without rerunning Image._decompression_bomb_check(). A crafted multi-frame image can use a tiny first frame to pass Image.open() and then declare an over-limit later frame. Normal frame iteration through seek(), load(), or ImageSequence.Iterator can decode that frame and commit hundreds of megabytes or more, causing memory-exhaustion denial of service. This issue is fixed in version 13.0.0.22hCVE-2026-1141367.5 HIG—
———Django REST framework is a toolkit for building Web APIs. From 3.6.4 until 3.18.2, JSONParser.parse in rest_framework/parsers.py uses the client-supplied Content-Type charset value with codecs.getreader, which accepts byte-transform codecs such as bz2_codec rather than only text encodings. A remote unauthenticated client can therefore cause a compressed JSON request body to be expanded after Django has enforced DATA_UPLOAD_MAX_MEMORY_SIZE against only the wire bytes, allowing a very small request to consume substantial per-worker memory. The default parser set is sufficient, and any reachable endpoint that accepts a JSON body is affected. This issue is fixed in version 3.18.2.23hCVE-2026-90797—51.3%
——15An unlimited gzip decompression routine in chttpd in Apache CouchDB 3.5.2 and below on all platforms allows any remote client to cause a denial of service via memory exhaustion.
Users are recommended to upgrade to version 3.5.3, which fixes this issue.2dCVE-2026-112892—20.5%
——6Pillow is a Python imaging library. From 4.1.0 until 13.0.0, Pillow's MSP RLE decoder can expand a small file into an unbounded in-memory buffer. The decoder writes run-length output to BytesIO without limiting expansion to the declared image size. An attacker can supply a crafted MSP image to an application that loads its pixels. This can exhaust memory and deny service even when the declared pixel count passes the decompression-bomb check. This issue is fixed in version 13.0.0.2d
