——0Unchecked input for a loop condition in Progressive Robot hMailServer 6.0.0 through 6.3.6 allows a remote unauthenticated attacker to stop the server carrying mail. The server bounds the mail it generates in response to a message - a rule forward, reply or copy, an account forward, a Sieve redirect, vacation or notify, a bounce, an out-of-office reply - by a counter it carries in the message's X-hMailServer-LoopCount header, and makes no more once the counter reaches the configured rule loop limit (5 by default); that is what ends a forwarding or auto-reply cycle in a bounded number of hops. X-hMailServer-LoopCount is an ordinary header that is not stripped from mail arriving from outside, and the server read it with a signed conversion and no validation, so a count below zero passed every test against the limit: a sender who sets X-hMailServer-LoopCount to a negative value, or on the Linux builds to a value above the 32-bit signed range that the conversion wraps to a negative one, lifts the bound, and a message that enters a generated-mail cycle then loops up to about two thousand million times, each hop a queued message and a delivery, filling the queue and disk and stopping mail service. The Sieve notify action (from 6.2.22) consulted no limit at all, and its increment of the count could overflow a signed integer; and an account could reset the counter on its own mail through a Sieve editheader of the header (from 6.2.22) or a rule Set header value action (all versions) ahead of a forward or redirect.16h

——5Temporal Server did not bound the work performed while searching for a Schedule's next action time. An authenticated caller with namespace write permission could create or update a Schedule that combines a fine-grained cadence with an exclusion calendar that rejects every candidate time, causing the server to evaluate excluded candidates without a per-search work budget. This can consume excessive CPU in Frontend and Schedule worker components. A persisted specification can also cause its backing Schedule Workflow to repeatedly fail and retry, allowing CPU consumption to continue without additional requests until the Schedule is deleted or its backing Workflow is terminated. Repeated or parallel exploitation can deny service. The issue affects availability only; it does not expose or modify Workflow data.28d

——1A denial of service flaw was found in Poppler's Splash backend. A crafted PDF with tiling-pattern geometry approaching the int32 boundary can cause SplashOutputDev::tilingPatternFill to compute an attacker-controlled repeat count that drives an excessively long loop in the pattern-fill scanline routine, without a corresponding memory allocation. An attacker could exploit this by supplying a malicious PDF to an application that renders it via Poppler's Splash backend, causing the rendering process to consume 100% CPU for an attacker-controlled, extended duration.32d

——13smol-toml is a small, fast, and correct TOML parser and serializer. Prior to 1.7.1, parse() can enter an infinite loop when a value inside an array or inline table is followed by a comment with no trailing newline. In src/util.ts, skipUntil() calls indexOfNewline(), receives -1 at the end of input, and resets the cursor to the beginning of the string instead of leaving the structure scan. The parser then hangs indefinitely and can consume a service's processing capacity when an application parses attacker-controlled TOML. This issue is fixed in version 1.7.1.41d

——5Pega Platform versions 7.1.0 through 25.1.2 are affected by an improper validation of inputs that are used for loop conditions, potentially leading to a denial of service or other consequences because of excessive looping.42d

——9GNU wget is vulnerable to denial of service in its FTP OPIE/S-KEY authentication functionality. The server-supplied sequence number from the FTP challenge line is used as an iteration count for an MD5 key-derivation loop without any upper bound validation. A malicious FTP server or a network attacker positioned to intercept FTP traffic can send a crafted OPIE challenge with a sequence number near INT_MAX, causing wget to perform up to approximately 2.1 billion MD5 computations and suspend for some time. The --timeout option does not mitigate this because it applies only to network I/O, not CPU computation. This issue was fixed in commit e9697d98e7249b0f68a6be040a4f3dcc5bc101fa53d
