——1The AJAX Report Comments plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery in all versions up to, and including, 2.0.4. This is due to missing or incorrect nonce validation on the rc_options_page function. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to modify plugin settings including link text and markup, success/failure/already-reported messages, comment threshold, cookie duration, reporter-comment toggle, and notification email address, subject, and message body via a forged request granted they can trick a site administrator into performing an action such as clicking on a link.95d

——1In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfrm: iptfs: fix ABBA deadlock in iptfs_destroy_state() iptfs_destroy_state() calls hrtimer_cancel() while holding a spinlock that the timer callback also acquires, leading to an ABBA deadlock on SMP systems. For the output timer (iptfs_timer): - iptfs_destroy_state() holds x->lock, calls hrtimer_cancel() - iptfs_delay_timer() callback takes x->lock For the drop timer (drop_timer): - iptfs_destroy_state() holds drop_lock, calls hrtimer_cancel() - iptfs_drop_timer() callback takes drop_lock Both timers use HRTIMER_MODE_REL_SOFT, so their callbacks run in softirq context. When hrtimer_cancel() is called for a soft timer that is currently executing on another CPU, hrtimer_cancel_wait_running() spins on softirq_expiry_lock -- the same lock held by the softirq running the callback. If the callback is blocked waiting for the spinlock held by the caller of hrtimer_cancel(), a circular dependency forms: CPU 0: holds lock_A -> waits for softirq_expiry_lock CPU 1: holds softirq_expiry_lock -> waits for lock_A Fix by calling hrtimer_cancel() before acquiring the respective locks. hrtimer_cancel() is safe to call without holding any lock and will wait for any in-progress callback to complete. For the output timer, the lock is still acquired afterwards to drain the packet queue. For the drop timer, the lock/unlock pair is removed entirely since it only existed to serialize with the timer callback, which hrtimer_cancel() already guarantees. Found by source code audit.111d

——1Zammad is a web based open source helpdesk/customer support system. Prior to 7.1.2, when Zammad checks the digital signature on an incoming S/MIME-signed email, it does not verify that the signing certificate is genuinely trusted, it only checks whether a certificate with a matching name is already stored in the system. An attacker can create their own certificate using the name of a real, previously trusted sender and use it to send a forged email. Zammad will display that email with the same "validly signed" indicator as a genuine message from the real sender, even though the attacker never had access to that sender's actual certificate or private key. This issue is fixed in version 7.1.2.26d

——1In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: psp: check for device unregister when creating assoc psp_assoc_device_get_locked() obtains a psp_dev reference via psp_dev_get_for_sock() (which uses psp_dev_tryget() under RCU); it then acquires psd->lock and drops the reference. Before the lock is taken, psp_dev_unregister() can run to completion: take psd->lock, clear out state, unlock, drop the registration reference. The expectation is that the lock prevents device unregistration, but much like with netdevs special care has to be taken when "upgrading" a reference to a locked device. Add the missing check if device is still alive. psp_dev_is_registered() exists already but had no callers, which makes me wonder if I either forgot to add this or lost the check during refactoring...103d

——1A local privilege escalation vulnerability in the optional dnscache package of Zimbra Collaboration Suite (ZCS) allows the Unix zimbra account to access files with root privileges. The passwordless sudo policy permits arbitrary arguments to zmunbound, whose wrapper forwards them to Unbound without restricting the configuration path. An attacker can supply a configuration that retains root privileges and disables the chroot. Include directives expose root-readable file contents through parser errors, while an attacker-selected logfile path creates a root-owned file or appends Unbound log records to an existing file. This can disclose password hashes and private keys and corrupt privileged configuration files, preventing affected services from starting with the modified configuration. The affected configuration is present in ZCS 10.1.16 and 10.1.21 dnscache packages.2d

——1In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipmi: Fix use-after-free of cmd_rcvr in _ipmi_destroy_user() Commit 9e91f8a6c868 ("ipmi:msghandler: Remove srcu for the ipmi_interfaces list") dropped the synchronize_rcu() between unlinking the command receivers from intf->cmd_rcvrs and freeing them, updating only the comment that explains why the barrier is needed. The cmd_rcvrs list is still traversed under plain RCU: find_cmd_rcvr() walks it inside rcu_read_lock(), and handle_ipmb_get_msg_cmd() borrows rcvr->user from that lookup within the same read-side section. Without the grace period, _ipmi_destroy_user() can kfree() a cmd_rcvr while a reader still holds a pointer to it, causing a use-after-free. The rework only made srcu unnecessary for the interfaces list; the cmd_rcvrs list still relies on plain RCU. Restore the synchronize_rcu() before freeing the receivers.6d

——1In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: hci_sync: Protect UUID list traversal The hci_sync conversion moved class-of-device and EIR generation from an HCI request built under hdev->lock to asynchronous command sync work. The worker holds hdev->req_lock, but that lock does not serialize access to hdev->uuids against add_uuid() and remove_uuid(), which update the list under hdev->lock. The following interleaving can therefore occur: CPU0 (command sync work) CPU1 (management socket) fetch uuid from the list list_del(&uuid->list) kfree(uuid) read uuid->size KASAN reports the resulting use-after-free: BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in eir_create+0xb8f/0xee0 Read of size 1 at addr ffff88810dbd8620 by task kworker/u17:0/87 Workqueue: hci0 hci_cmd_sync_work Call Trace: eir_create+0xb8f/0xee0 hci_update_eir_sync+0x1c0/0x330 hci_cmd_sync_work+0x13c/0x290 process_one_work+0x63a/0x1070 worker_thread+0x45b/0xd10 Allocated by task 86: __kasan_kmalloc+0x8f/0xa0 add_uuid+0x18a/0x4b0 hci_sock_sendmsg+0x1033/0x1ea0 Freed by task 92: __kasan_slab_free+0x43/0x70 kfree+0x131/0x3c0 remove_uuid+0x25e/0x560 hci_sock_sendmsg+0x1033/0x1ea0 Hold hdev->lock while generating and committing the class-of-device and EIR snapshots. Release it before sending an HCI command, so controller waits do not happen under the device lock. This protects all UUID list walks in these paths and restores the serialization lost in the command sync conversion.6d

——1In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: apparmor: fix use-after-free in rawdata dedup loop aa_replace_profiles() walks ns->rawdata_list to dedup the incoming policy blob against entries already attached to existing profiles. Per the kernel-doc on struct aa_loaddata, list membership does not hold a reference: profiles hold pcount, and when the last pcount drops, do_ploaddata_rmfs() is queued on a workqueue that takes ns->lock and removes the entry. Between dropping the last pcount and the workqueue running, an entry remains on the list with pcount == 0. aa_get_profile_loaddata() is an unconditional kref_get() on pcount, so when the dedup loop hits such an entry, refcount hardening reports refcount_t: addition on 0; use-after-free. inside aa_replace_profiles(), and the poisoned counter then trips "saturated" and "underflow" warnings on the subsequent uses of the same loaddata. Before commit a0b7091c4de4 ("apparmor: fix race on rawdata dereference") the dedup path used a get_unless_zero-style helper on a single counter, so the existing "if (tmp)" guard was meaningful. The split-refcount refactor introduced aa_get_profile_loaddata(), which has plain kref_get() semantics, and the guard quietly became a no-op. Introduce aa_get_profile_loaddata_not0(), matching the existing _not0 convention used by aa_get_profile_not0(), and use it for the rawdata_list dedup lookup so dying entries are skipped. Reproduced on x86_64 with v7.1-rc5 in QEMU+KVM running Ubuntu 24.04 + stress-ng 0.17.06: stress-ng --apparmor 1 --klog-check --timeout 60s Without this patch the three refcount_t warnings fire within a few seconds. With it the same 60 s run is clean. Coverage is a smoke-test only; a longer soak with CONFIG_KASAN, CONFIG_KCSAN and CONFIG_PROVE_LOCKING would be welcome from anyone with the cycles.70d

——1Protection mechanism failure in the UEFI firmware for the Slim Bootloader within firmware may allow an escalation of privilege. Startup code and smm adversary with a privileged user combined with a high complexity attack may enable escalation of privilege. This result may potentially occur via local access when attack requirements are present without special internal knowledge and requires no user interaction. The potential vulnerability may impact the confidentiality (high), integrity (high) and availability (high) of the vulnerable system, resulting in subsequent system confidentiality (none), integrity (none) and availability (none) impacts.6d
