Descripción técnica

Botan is a C++ cryptography library. From 3.7.0 until 3.13.0, an application that calls AutoSeeded_RNG::clear() and then calls randomize with an empty output buffer while the generator is unseeded can cause AutoSeeded_RNG to mark itself seeded without consulting the configured entropy source. On builds without BOTAN_HAS_SYSTEM_RNG, the fallback uses only a clock value and process ID, so a later non-empty request can produce output from predictable state. This issue is fixed in version 3.13.0.

——2Insufficient session randomness vulnerability in the listed NETGEAR Extender models allows a network-adjacent attacker having network access (such as WiFi credentials) to predict valid session identifiers and hijack an authenticated administrator session on the web management portal.10d

When an object is initialised before forking, then the internal state for the PRNG is shared across processes and identical random streams will be produced. ——13Bytes::Random::Secure versions through 0.29 for Perl share internal state across forked processes. When an object is initialised before forking, or when the functional interface is used, then the internal state for the PRNG is shared across processes and identical random streams will be produced. Secrets generated in multiprocess applications are predictable across processes.4d

——11CryptX versions before 0.088 for Perl do not reseed the Crypt::PK PRNG state after forking. The Crypt::PK::RSA, Crypt::PK::DSA, Crypt::PK::DH, Crypt::PK::ECC, Crypt::PK::Ed25519 and Crypt::PK::X25519 modules seed a per-object PRNG state in their constructors and reuse it without fork detection. A Crypt::PK::* object created before `fork()` shares byte-identical PRNG state with every child process, and any randomized operation they perform can produce identical output, including key generation. Two ECDSA or DSA signatures from different processes are enough to recover the signing private key through nonce-reuse key recovery. This affects preforking services such as the Starman web server, where a Crypt::PK::* object loaded at startup is inherited by every worker process.3d

——29Python's elementtree C accelerator failed to initialise Expat's hash salt during initialization. This could make it easy to conduct denial of service attacks against Expat by constructing an XML document that would cause pathological hash collisions in Expat's internal data structures, consuming large amounts CPU and RAM. The vulnerability exists in Python versions 3.7.0, 3.6.0 through 3.6.6, 3.5.0 through 3.5.6, 3.4.0 through 3.4.9, 2.7.0 through 2.7.15.22d
