Descripción técnica

fastify is a web framework for Node.js. In versions 5.8.0 through 5.12.7, when the server is configured with a nonzero handlerTimeout and a route returns a streaming response, a request whose stream has already sent its headers but stays open past the timeout crashes the server. When the timeout fires, Fastify tries to send a new error response on a response that has already started, raising an uncaught ERR_HTTP_HEADERS_SENT that terminates the Node.js process and interrupts any other in-flight requests. An unauthenticated remote client can trigger this with a single request to an affected streaming endpoint, so the impact is availability only, and exploitation requires the non-default handlerTimeout to be set. The default handlerTimeout of 0 is not affected. The issue is fixed in fastify 5.12.8, and users should upgrade to 5.12.8 or later. As a workaround, set handlerTimeout to 0, which disables the affected timeout path.

———svg-sanitizer from 1.1.0 before 1.1.1 contains a denial of service vulnerability that allows remote attackers to crash requests by submitting SVG input ending inside an unclosed tag. Attackers can upload truncated input like a single '<' to trigger an uncaught ValueError from strpos() in hasElementWithTooManyAttributes() or hasInternalDtdSubset() on PHP 8, failing the request.6h

———Parse Server before 8.6.110 and 9.0.0 before 9.10.6-alpha.2 fails to contain a serialization error when an object update uses a dot notation key targeting a pointer field's object identifier on a class with an afterSave trigger. Attackers, including unauthenticated clients when objects are writable without a session, can send such an update to crash the Node process.6h

———FreeRDP before 3.32.2 contains a denial of service vulnerability in WinPR's winpr_read_png_from_buffer() and winpr_convert_from_jpeg(), which lack libpng/libjpeg error handling. A malicious RDP server or MITM can offer a malformed PNG or truncated JPEG clipboard payload, causing the client to abort or exit.6h

——0In multiple locations, there is a possible permission bypass due to an uncaught exception. This could lead to local escalation of privilege with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation.5h

——0@fastify/cors is the CORS plugin for the Fastify web framework. In versions 8.2.0 through 11.3.x, an application that registers the plugin with the non-default onSend hook option crashes on a CORS preflight. On an OPTIONS request that carries the Origin and Access-Control-Request-Method headers, the plugin calls reply.send from inside the onSend hook and re-enters the send pipeline, so a second write of the response headers throws an uncaught ERR_HTTP_HEADERS_SENT that can terminate the Node.js process when no process-level handler is installed. An unauthenticated remote client can trigger this with a single preflight request, so the impact is availability only, and exploitation requires the non-default onSend configuration. The issue is fixed in @fastify/cors 11.4.0, where onSend is no longer an accepted hook value and registration fails with a clear error instead of crashing at request time, and users should upgrade to 11.4.0 or later. As a workaround, use any other hook such as the default onRequest, or set preflight to false.1d
