Descripción técnica

PRTG Network Monitor before version 26.2.120.1449 ships a demo EXE/Script sensor that multiplies two integer parameters using cscript.exe. If a non-numeric value is passed instead, cscript.exe raises a 'Type mismatch' runtime error that includes the offending parameter value in plaintext. PRTG provides a documented placeholder variable, %windowspassword, which resolves to the configured Windows/domain password used by PRTG and can be passed as a sensor parameter.  Any PRTG user who is not restricted to read-only access and is permitted to create sensors (the default for non-read-only users) can pass %windowspassword as an argument to the demo VBScript sensor, triggering the type-mismatch error and causing PRTG to display the plaintext password in the sensor's error output.

——0A vulnerability was determined in a2aproject a2a-rs up to 0.4.3. This issue affects some unknown processing of the file a2a-server/src/error.rs. Executing a manipulation can lead to information exposure through error message. The attack can be executed remotely. This patch is called 713b943af94ab2d521d483b841618b97a2e78a4d. A patch should be applied to remediate this issue.17h

——0Vite is a frontend tooling framework for JavaScript. From 8.2.0 until 8.2.4 and 8.3.3, the first 4 bytes of files outside of server.fs setting can be returned to the browser by a request containing ?vite-wasm-instance. Requests containing the ?vite-wasm-instance query are handled by the internal Wasm plugin's load hook. The hook removes the query and reads the resulting path directly from disk, but the server.fs checks were not applied. After reading the file, Vite attempts to parse it as WebAssembly. When that parse fails, Node and deno throws an error that contains the first 4 bytes of the file. This vulnerability is fixed in 8.2.4 and 8.3.3.20h

——10Generation of Error Message Containing Sensitive Information vulnerability in Apache Camel gRPC component. This issue affects Apache Camel: from 4.0.0 before 4.18.5, from 4.19.0 before 4.22.1. When a route behind a gRPC consumer failed, the exception's message was placed into the gRPC status description. Unlike the status cause, which stays local to the server, the description is transmitted to the calling client, so an external caller able to provoke a failure could read the internal error message. What that discloses depends on the exception, and in practice includes class and package names, paths, host names and connection detail carried in messages. This is the gRPC member of the same unmuted-consumer-exception family as the knative, mina and CXF advisories published alongside it. Upgrade to Apache Camel 4.23.0, which fixes the issue. Users on the 4.18.x LTS releases stream should upgrade to 4.18.5. Users on the 4.22.x LTS releases stream should upgrade to 4.22.1. A muteException consumer option, defaulting to true, puts a generic description in the status instead of the route exception's message. Set muteException=false to restore the previous output. For deployments that cannot upgrade immediately, map failures onto an explicit status in an onException handler so the framework never copies the exception message into the description.2d

——10Generation of Error Message Containing Sensitive Information vulnerability in Apache Camel CXF component. This issue affects Apache Camel: from 4.0.0 before 4.18.5, from 4.19.0 before 4.22.1. When a route behind a CXF SOAP consumer failed with an exception the service contract does not declare, the exception was described back to the SOAP client in the fault: CXF copies the message into the SOAP faultstring, and can be configured to place the stack trace in the fault detail. An external caller able to provoke a failure could therefore read internal detail about the deployment - class and package names, and whatever the exception message carries. Declared faults, annotated @WebFault, are a different matter: those are part of the published contract that clients are written against, and suppressing them would break the service rather than protect anything. Upgrade to Apache Camel 4.23.0, which fixes the issue. Users on the 4.18.x LTS releases stream should upgrade to 4.18.5. Users on the 4.22.x LTS releases stream should upgrade to 4.22.1. A muteException consumer option, defaulting to true, replaces an undeclared route failure with a generic fault carrying no class name, message or stack trace. Faults the contract declares are reported exactly as before. Set muteException=false to restore the previous output. For deployments that cannot upgrade immediately, declare the exceptions the service is allowed to report and map every other failure onto one of them in an onException handler, so no undeclared exception reaches the fault.2d

——10Generation of Error Message Containing Sensitive Information vulnerability in Apache Camel Mina component. This issue affects Apache Camel: from 4.0.0 before 4.18.5, from 4.19.0 before 4.22.1. When processing of an exchange failed, the Mina consumer wrote exchange.getException() straight back over the socket to the remote peer. Over a textline codec that hands the peer the exception's class name and message; over the object codec it hands over the serialised exception, cause chain included. A remote peer able to provoke a failure could therefore read internal detail about the deployment - class and package names, and whatever a message or nested cause happens to carry, which in practice can include paths, host names and connection detail. The consumer had no option to suppress this, unlike the HTTP-family consumers aligned by CAMEL-23651. Upgrade to Apache Camel 4.23.0, which fixes the issue. Users on the 4.18.x LTS releases stream should upgrade to 4.18.5. Users on the 4.22.x LTS releases stream should upgrade to 4.22.1. A muteException consumer option, defaulting to true, replaces the route exception with a generic one carrying no class name, message or stack trace, while still writing a reply so that a synchronous peer is not left to time out. Set muteException=false to restore the previous behaviour. For deployments that cannot upgrade immediately, add an onException handler that sets the reply body explicitly, so the framework never writes the exception back to the peer.2d
