Descripción técnica

HomeBox is a home inventory and organization system. Prior to 0.27.0, the POST /api/v1/users/login endpoint performs password-hash verification only when the submitted username matches an existing account, while unknown usernames return immediately. Although both paths return the same 401 unauthorized response, the processing-time discrepancy allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to distinguish registered email addresses; rate limiting only reduces the number of attempts per window. This issue is fixed in version 0.27.0.

——0OpenEMR is a free and open source electronic health records and medical practice management application. From 6.0.0 until 8.3.0, interface/globals.php uses the unauthenticated authUser login parameter to populate temp_authuserid and load that account's user_settings before authentication succeeds. Existing usernames can therefore cause an additional database query and may apply visible customized settings, while nonexistent usernames skip that behavior. A remote unauthenticated actor can use timing or page differences to enumerate valid accounts for later credential attacks. This issue is fixed in version 8.3.0.7h

——0SuiteCRM is an open-source, enterprise-ready Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software application. Prior to 7.15.2 and 8.10.2, the /legacy/Api/V8/OAuth2 password-grant endpoint returns distinct error messages for an invalid username and an invalid password. An unauthenticated remote attacker can use those response differences to enumerate valid CRM usernames and target confirmed accounts with password spraying, credential stuffing, brute-force, or social-engineering attacks. This issue is fixed in versions 7.15.2 and 8.10.2.8h

——4Open edX Platform enables the authoring and delivery of online learning at any scale. From the Ulmo release until release/ulmo.4 and release/verawood.1, the GET /api/support/v1/manage_course_team/ endpoint in CourseTeamManageAPIView requires only IsAuthenticated and omits the global support-role authorization check intended for this help-desk surface. Any authenticated learner can supply an email, username, or user_id for an arbitrary target and use the 200 and 404 response discrepancy to distinguish an active account from an absent or inactive account. A caller with a course-level or organization-level instructor role can additionally obtain the target user's staff or instructor assignments within the caller's course or organization scope. Anonymous callers remain blocked, and the separately authorized PUT behavior is outside this vulnerability. This issue is fixed in release/ulmo.4 and release/verawood.1.1d

——9blueprintUE Self-Hosted Edition before 4.3.3 contains an account enumeration vulnerability in ForgotPasswordMiddleware.php that allows unauthenticated attackers to identify registered email addresses. Attackers can compare password reset redirect targets for submitted emails, and failed lookups are never rate-limited, enabling unlimited enumeration attempts.1d

——6Catalyst::Plugin::Authentication versions before 0.10029 for Perl allow timing attacks on stored passwords via eq comparisons in the legacy password verifier. CVE-2026-5091 was fixed in the realm-based verifier. The legacy verifier, used by the deprecated login method, compares clear-text passwords, crypt hashes and base64 digests with eq, so the comparison time depends on how many leading bytes match. A remote attacker can use response-time differences to guess the stored password or hash.2d

——6secp256k1-native is a native C secp256k1 implementation for Ruby. In affected native builds, native constant-time scalar multiplication through `Point#mul` or `scalar_multiply_ct` can leak timing information about a secret scalar when compiled by a toolchain that reconstructs branchless selection into a branch. The `Montgomery ladder` uses `uint256_select` with an all-zeros or all-ones mask, but affected GCC builds at `-O2` recover the original condition and emit secret-dependent `je` or `jne` jumps whose timing correlates with scalar bits. This defeats the assumption behind the 0.17.0 `jp_add_internal` infinity-branch fix. A consumer must multiply a secret private key or nonce in a context where an attacker can observe timing; repeated measurements can statistically recover scalar bits. The defect is in the compiled binary, so source review or `ctgrind` on a non-reconstructing toolchain may miss it. GCC 14.3.0, 15.1.0, and 15.2.0 reproduced the branch reconstruction, and `extconf.rb` appends `-O2`. Tested GCC versions through 12.4.0 used bitwise operations and GCC 13.3.0 used constant-time `cmov`; the pure-Ruby path is not affected by this flaw and separately makes no constant-time claim. GCC 16 and clang were untested, and point releases, targets, and flag combinations were not exhaustively bisected. `Earlier pre-0.17.0 versions had different constant-time issues rather than this introduced select idiom.` Version 0.18.0 contains the verified fix. The advisory's broad pre-0.18.0 guidance also covers earlier, different constant-time issues; whether this CVE groups those issues or only the select idiom introduced in 0.17.0 remains unresolved.3d
