CVE-2026-54668——
———Kitodo.Production is a workflow management tool for mass digitization and is part of the Kitodo Digital Library Suite. Prior to version 3.9.2, org.kitodo.production.helper.XMLUtils exposes several XML parsing helpers that construct a JAXP parser with the default, non-secure configuration. The methods parseXMLString(String), getNumberOfEADElements(String, String) and checkIfXmlIsWellFormed(String) build a DocumentBuilderFactory / XMLInputFactory / SAXParserFactory via newInstance() and parse the attacker-supplied string without disabling DOCTYPE declarations or external entity resolution. These helpers sit directly on the EAD-import path: an authenticated user who uploads an EAD/XML file through the "Create process" file-upload dialog has the uploaded bytes parsed by these methods. A crafted document with an external entity therefore yields XML External Entity (XXE) injection: local file disclosure and outbound SSRF requests from the server. This issue has been patched in version 3.9.2.10hCVE-2026-108358—31.4%
——9PhpSpreadsheet is a pure PHP library for reading and writing spreadsheet files. Prior to 1.30.7, 2.1.19, 2.4.8, 3.10.8, and 5.10.0, XmlScanner::scan in src/PhpSpreadsheet/Reader/Security/XmlScanner.php uses a DOCTYPE detection pattern that accounts for NUL-byte interleaving but not ISO-2022 escape sequences in XLSX XML parts. The escape sequences prevent the scanner from matching the declaration, and XML charset normalization then removes the escape bytes before parsing, exposing a valid DOCTYPE and entity definitions. Processing an attacker-controlled XLSX can therefore cause entity-expansion denial of service on supported PHP versions and can permit local file access or SSRF on PHP before 8.0 or when LIBXML_NOENT is enabled. This issue is fixed in versions 1.30.7, 2.1.19, 2.4.8, 3.10.8, and 5.10.0.8hCVE-2026-108357—20.0%
——6PhpSpreadsheet is a pure PHP library for reading and writing spreadsheet files. From 3.3.0 until 3.10.8 and 5.10.0, Reader\Xml passes stored SpreadsheetML XML through XmlScanner::scan in Xml::canRead and Xml::trySimpleXMLLoadStringPrivate, while Xml::unentity decodes numeric entities only after each DOCTYPE pattern check. A double-encoded less-than character is reduced by the first callback to another encoded character and by the second callback to a literal less-than sign, so SimpleXML receives an unchecked DOCTYPE and entity declaration. Processing attacker-controlled SpreadsheetML XML can cause entity-expansion denial of service and can permit local file access or SSRF on PHP before 8.0 or when LIBXML_NOENT is enabled. This issue is fixed in versions 3.10.8 and 5.10.0.8hCVE-2026-1135827.5 ALT39.2%
——12UNSUPPORTED WHEN ASSIGNED Improper restriction of XML external entity references in Apache Abdera allows an attacker to access sensitive data or make server-side requests when an application parses attacker-controlled XML with Abdera.
This issue affects Apache Abdera: all versions.
Apache Abdera is retired and no longer supported, so we do not plan to release a version that fixes this issue. Users are recommended to migrate to a maintained alternative. Applications that cannot migrate should ensure that untrusted XML cannot reach the affected Abdera parser or JDBC adapter parsing paths. Actively maintained downstream products may still be impacted if they include an affected Abdera artifact.
NOTE: This vulnerability only affects products that are no longer supported by the maintainer.1dCVE-2026-97400—5.3%
——2In Eclipse OpenJ9 versions up to 0.63, opening a supplied diagnostic dump bundle with the jdmpview tool, or equivalent DTFJ code, may cause the analyst's machine to read an arbitrary local file named inside the bundle and send its contents to an arbitrary remote host.3dCVE-2026-918586.5 MED28.4%
——9FopProducer transforms the incoming XSL-FO message body by creating a javax.xml.transform.TransformerFactory through TransformerFactory.newInstance() and enabling only FEATURE_SECURE_PROCESSING before running an identity transform over the body. On the JDK's built-in transformer, that feature alone already empties the accessExternalDTD and accessExternalStylesheet limits, so an external DTD or entity is refused. When a third-party JAXP TransformerFactory such as Saxon-HE is on the classpath, for example because the application also uses camel-xslt-saxon or camel-saxon, TransformerFactory.newInstance() returns that implementation instead, and FEATURE_SECURE_PROCESSING on its own does not restrict external resource access on it. A DOCTYPE with an external subset, or an external general entity, declared in the XSL-FO document is then resolved and expanded while the body is transformed. An external sender whose XSL-FO reaches a fop producer could therefore read files readable by the Camel process and cause the process to issue requests to hosts the document names. camel-fop does not bring such a factory itself, and excludes Xalan, so a default deployment using the JDK transformer is not affected; the issue is reachable only where another component has placed an alternative JAXP TransformerFactory on the classpath. Releases on the 4.14.x line and earlier reached end of life before this issue was resolved and do not receive a fix.4d
