1In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ASoC: codec: sma1307: Fix memory corruption in sma1307_setting_loaded() The sma1307->set.header_size is how many integers are in the header (there are 8 of them) but instead of allocating space of 8 integers we allocate 8 bytes. This leads to memory corruption when we copy data it on the next line: memcpy(sma1307->set.header, data, sma1307->set.header_size * sizeof(int)); Also since we're immediately copying over the memory in ->set.header, there is no need to zero it in the allocator. Use devm_kmalloc_array() to allocate the memory instead.34d

1Wazuh is a free and open source platform used for threat prevention, detection, and response. Versions 4.6.0 and above prior to 4.14.5 contain a heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability in the syscheck component of the Wazuh agent for Windows. When expanding registry paths containing wildcards (* or ?), the agent allocates a fixed-size heap buffer of 256 bytes (OS_SIZE_256). By creating a registry subkey with a maximum allowed length (255 characters) inside a monitored path, a low-privileged local attacker can force an out-of-bounds write during string concatenation. Since wazuh-agent.exe runs as NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM, this can lead to a silent Denial of Service (blinding the agent) or potentially Local Privilege Escalation (LPE). This issue has been fixed in version 4.14.5.44d

1In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: f2fs: fix to do sanity check on node footer for non inode dnode As syzbot reported below: ------------[ cut here ]------------ kernel BUG at fs/f2fs/file.c:1243! Oops: invalid opcode: 0000 [#1] SMP KASAN NOPTI CPU: 0 UID: 0 PID: 5354 Comm: syz.0.0 Not tainted 6.17.0-rc1-syzkaller-00211-g90d970cade8e #0 PREEMPT(full) RIP: 0010:f2fs_truncate_hole+0x69e/0x6c0 fs/f2fs/file.c:1243 Call Trace: <TASK> f2fs_punch_hole+0x2db/0x330 fs/f2fs/file.c:1306 f2fs_fallocate+0x546/0x990 fs/f2fs/file.c:2018 vfs_fallocate+0x666/0x7e0 fs/open.c:342 ksys_fallocate fs/open.c:366 [inline] __do_sys_fallocate fs/open.c:371 [inline] __se_sys_fallocate fs/open.c:369 [inline] __x64_sys_fallocate+0xc0/0x110 fs/open.c:369 do_syscall_x64 arch/x86/entry/syscall_64.c:63 [inline] do_syscall_64+0xfa/0x3b0 arch/x86/entry/syscall_64.c:94 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x77/0x7f RIP: 0033:0x7f1e65f8ebe9 w/ a fuzzed image, f2fs may encounter panic due to it detects inconsistent truncation range in direct node in f2fs_truncate_hole(). The root cause is: a non-inode dnode may has the same footer.ino and footer.nid, so the dnode will be parsed as an inode, then ADDRS_PER_PAGE() may return wrong blkaddr count which may be 923 typically, by chance, dn.ofs_in_node is equal to 923, then count can be calculated to 0 in below statement, later it will trigger panic w/ f2fs_bug_on(, count == 0 || ...). count = min(end_offset - dn.ofs_in_node, pg_end - pg_start); This patch introduces a new node_type NODE_TYPE_NON_INODE, then allowing passing the new_type to sanity_check_node_footer in f2fs_get_node_folio() to detect corruption that a non-inode dnode has the same footer.ino and footer.nid. Scripts to reproduce: mkfs.f2fs -f /dev/vdb mount /dev/vdb /mnt/f2fs touch /mnt/f2fs/foo touch /mnt/f2fs/bar dd if=/dev/zero of=/mnt/f2fs/foo bs=1M count=8 umount /mnt/f2fs inject.f2fs --node --mb i_nid --nid 4 --idx 0 --val 5 /dev/vdb mount /dev/vdb /mnt/f2fs xfs_io /mnt/f2fs/foo -c "fpunch 6984k 4k"34d

1In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: riscv/mm: use physical alignment for vmemmap_start_pfn RISC-V computes vmemmap_start_pfn by rounding phys_ram_base down to VMEMMAP_ADDR_ALIGN. That alignment must therefore be expressed in the physical-address domain. Commit 476849b0fba4 ("riscv/mm: align vmemmap to maximal folio size") attempted to account for the maximal folio alignment by feeding MAX_FOLIO_VMEMMAP_ALIGN directly into VMEMMAP_ADDR_ALIGN. However, MAX_FOLIO_VMEMMAP_ALIGN is measured in bytes of struct page storage, whereas VMEMMAP_ADDR_ALIGN is used to align a physical address. The mask-based compound_info encoding requires pfn_to_page(0) to be naturally aligned to MAX_FOLIO_VMEMMAP_ALIGN. Commit 9f94db4c7eaa ("mm/sparse: check memmap alignment for compound_info_has_mask()") added a check for that requirement and exposed the unit mismatch on systems such as QEMU virt, where the DRAM base is not aligned to MAX_FOLIO_NR_PAGES * PAGE_SIZE. Here is the log: [ 0.000000][ C0] ------------[ cut here ]------------ [ 0.000000][ C0] WARNING: mm/sparse.c:365 at sparse_init+0x58a/0x6fe, CPU#0: swapper/0 [ 0.000000][ C0] Modules linked in: [ 0.000000][ C0] CPU: 0 UID: 0 PID: 0 Comm: swapper Not tainted 7.2.0-rc3-g1d8304bdd65f #2 PREEMPT [ 0.000000][ C0] Hardware name: riscv-virtio,qemu (DT) [ 0.000000][ C0] epc : sparse_init+0x58a/0x6fe [ 0.000000][ C0] ra : sparse_init+0x58a/0x6fe [ 0.000000][ C0] epc : ffffffff86851c88 ra : ffffffff86851c88 sp : ffffffff88807a30 [ 0.000000][ C0] gp : ffffffff8a3bf240 tp : ffffffff88842080 t0 : ff600000ffab6000 [ 0.000000][ C0] t1 : 000000017fab6000 t2 : 65203a6573726363 s0 : ffffffff88807bc0 [ 0.000000][ C0] s1 : 000000000e000000 a0 : 0000000000000007 a1 : 0000000000000000 [ 0.000000][ C0] a2 : 0000000000000002 a3 : ffffffff86851c88 a4 : 0000000000000000 [ 0.000000][ C0] a5 : ffffffff88843080 a6 : 0000000000000003 a7 : 0000000000000000 [ 0.000000][ C0] s2 : ff60000000000000 s3 : 0040000000000000 s4 : 0004000000000000 [ 0.000000][ C0] s5 : ffffffff8a4d92e0 s6 : ff600000ffab55e0 s7 : ffffffff88384d00 [ 0.000000][ C0] s8 : 0000000000000003 s9 : ffffffff88384cc1 s10: ffffffff88384cc0 [ 0.000000][ C0] s11: ffffffff8a4daae0 t3 : ffffffff915e8b20 t4 : ffffffff915e8b20 [ 0.000000][ C0] t5 : ffffffff915e8b20 t6 : ffffffff915e8bc8 ssp : 0000000000000000 [ 0.000000][ C0] status: 0000000200000100 badaddr: ffffffff86851c88 cause: 0000000000000003 [ 0.000000][ C0] [<ffffffff86851c88>] sparse_init+0x58a/0x6fe [ 0.000000][ C0] [<ffffffff8683d396>] mm_core_init_early+0x116/0x1e30 [ 0.000000][ C0] [<ffffffff86801edc>] start_kernel+0xd2/0x848 Convert MAX_FOLIO_VMEMMAP_ALIGN to the equivalent physical alignment before using it in VMEMMAP_ADDR_ALIGN. 1Bash-it 3.2.0 contains a terminal escape sequence injection vulnerability in the barbuk theme's Python virtualenv prompt segment that allows local attackers to inject arbitrary terminal control sequences by embedding escape sequences in the requires-python field of a pyproject.toml file. When a user navigates into a directory containing a maliciously crafted pyproject.toml, the unfiltered field value is read via awk and concatenated directly into PS1 through __prompt-command without stripping control characters, causing injected OSC or CSI sequences to be written to and interpreted by the terminal emulator on every prompt render.21d

1The Dhara flash translation layer disk driver (drivers/disk/ftl_dhara.c) implemented the dhara_nand_ callbacks so that, on a flash error, the error code was written unconditionally through the caller-supplied dhara_error_t err pointer (e.g. *err = DHARA_E_ECC in dhara_nand_read, and similar in dhara_nand_erase/prog/copy). The upstream Dhara library calls these callbacks with err == NULL along its journal-resume binary search: find_last_checkblock() invokes find_checkblock(j, mid, &found, NULL), which forwards the NULL pointer into dhara_nand_read(). This path runs during disk_ftl_access_init() -> dhara_map_resume() whenever the FTL disk is mounted/initialised. If a flash read error (uncorrectable ECC, bad block, controller error) occurs on one of the probed checkpoint pages, the driver dereferences and writes to NULL, faulting the kernel (denial of service). The trigger is conditioned on the NAND medium content/health, which can be influenced by media wear, induced faults, or a corrupted/crafted on-flash image. The fix routes all error assignments through the library's NULL-safe dhara_set_error() helper. Affects Zephyr v4.4.0, where the driver was introduced.1d

1In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net_sched: red: fix a race in __red_change() Gerrard Tai reported a race condition in RED, whenever SFQ perturb timer fires at the wrong time. The race is as follows: CPU 0 CPU 1 [1]: lock root [2]: qdisc_tree_flush_backlog() [3]: unlock root | | [5]: lock root | [6]: rehash | [7]: qdisc_tree_reduce_backlog() | [4]: qdisc_put() This can be abused to underflow a parent's qlen. Calling qdisc_purge_queue() instead of qdisc_tree_flush_backlog() should fix the race, because all packets will be purged from the qdisc before releasing the lock.34d
