1In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nexthop: initialize extack in nh_res_bucket_migrate() nh_res_bucket_migrate() passes an uninitialized netlink_ext_ack to call_nexthop_res_bucket_notifiers(). When nh_notifier_res_bucket_info_init() fails (e.g. the kzalloc returns -ENOMEM), the error is propagated back before any notifier sets extack._msg, and the error path formats the stale pointer with pr_err_ratelimited("%s\n", extack._msg). With CONFIG_INIT_STACK_NONE this dereferences uninitialized stack memory: Oops: general protection fault, probably for non-canonical address ... KASAN: maybe wild-memory-access in range [...] RIP: 0010:string (lib/vsprintf.c:730) vsnprintf (lib/vsprintf.c:2945) _printk (kernel/printk/printk.c:2504) nh_res_bucket_migrate (net/ipv4/nexthop.c:1816) nh_res_table_upkeep (net/ipv4/nexthop.c:1866) rtm_new_nexthop (net/ipv4/nexthop.c:3323) rtnetlink_rcv_msg (net/core/rtnetlink.c:7076) netlink_sendmsg (net/netlink/af_netlink.c:1900) Kernel panic - not syncing: Fatal exception Zero-initialize extack so _msg is NULL on error paths that never set it.13d

1In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfrm: fix sk_dst_cache double-free in xfrm_user_policy() xfrm_user_policy() clears the socket dst cache with __sk_dst_reset(), i.e. the non-atomic __sk_dst_set(sk, NULL): it reads sk_dst_cache with rcu_dereference_protected(), stores NULL and dst_release()s the old dst. That is only safe if no other thread modifies sk_dst_cache concurrently. For a connected UDP socket that does not hold: the transmit fast path (udp_sendmsg -> sk_dst_check -> sk_dst_reset) resets the cache locklessly with an atomic xchg(). A per-socket policy change racing a send can make both sides observe the same old dst and each dst_release() it, dropping the socket's single reference twice and freeing the xfrm_dst bundle while it is still referenced: BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in dst_release Write of size 4 at addr ffff88801897b6c0 by task exploit/155 Call Trace: ... dst_release (... ./include/linux/rcuref.h:109) xfrm_user_policy (./include/net/sock.h:2239 ./include/net/sock.h:2256 net/xfrm/xfrm_state.c:3053) do_ip_setsockopt (net/ipv4/ip_sockglue.c:1347) ip_setsockopt (net/ipv4/ip_sockglue.c:1417) do_sock_setsockopt (net/socket.c:2368) __sys_setsockopt (net/socket.c:2393) __x64_sys_setsockopt (net/socket.c:2396) do_syscall_64 (arch/x86/entry/syscall_64.c:94) entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe (arch/x86/entry/entry_64.S:121) Reachable by an unprivileged user via a user+network namespace. Use the atomic sk_dst_reset() so the cache is cleared and released with a single xchg(): whichever side wins releases the dst once, the other sees NULL and does nothing. Behaviour is otherwise unchanged.5d

1In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ASoC: codecs: simple-mux: Fix enum control bounds check simple_mux_control_put() rejects values greater than e->items, but enum control values are zero based. For the two-entry mux used by this driver, valid values are 0 and 1, so value 2 must be rejected as well. Accepting e->items can store an invalid mux state, pass it to the GPIO setter, and pass it on to the DAPM mux update path where it is used as an index into the enum text array. Use the same >= e->items check used by the ASoC enum helpers.14d

1Untrusted pointer dereference in the render_bin_output function in the h5dump tool in HDF5 before 2.3.0 allows attackers to cause a denial of service via a variable-length string dataset with more than one element dumped in binary mode, which corrupts the per-element stride calculation and causes subsequent elements to be read from a misaligned offset and dereferenced as a pointer.11h

1GitHub CLI (gh) is GitHub's official command line tool. Prior to version 2.97.0, gh auth status masked only the characters after the last underscore in certain fine-grained personal access tokens and GitHub App tokens. As a result, part of an affected token could appear in terminal or CI output that is captured or shared. Authenticated users are affected if they ran gh auth status (without the --show-token flag) with a token type whose format contains an underscore after the prefix. This includes fine-grained personal access tokens (github_pat_*) and GitHub App installation and user access tokens (ghs_*, ghu_*; for example, ghs_<APPID>_<JWT>), as well as the Actions GITHUB_TOKEN. Classic tokens such as gho_* and ghp_* have an underscore-free body and are not affected. This issue is fixed in version 2.97.0.25d

1In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/komeda: fix integer overflow in AFBC framebuffer size check The AFBC framebuffer size validation calculates the minimum required buffer size by adding the AFBC payload size to the framebuffer offset. This addition is performed without checking for integer overflow. If the addition oveflows, the size check may incorrectly succed and allow userspace to provide an undersized drm_gem_object, potentially leading to out-of-bounds memory access. Add usage of check_add_overflow() to safely compute the minimum required size and reject the framebuffer if an overflow is detected. This makes the AFBC size validation more robust against malformed. Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with SVACE.42d

1GNU gzip contains a vulnerability in the gzexe utility related to insecure temporary file handling. When the mktemp utility is not available in the user’s PATH, gzexe falls back to constructing a temporary file path based solely on the process ID (PID). This predictable filename is created without exclusive access or existence checks. A local attacker can pre‑create the predicted temporary file path as a symbolic link pointing to an arbitrary file writable by the victim. When gzexe runs, it follows the symlink and overwrites the target file, resulting in a time‑of‑check to time‑of‑use (TOCTOU) condition that allows arbitrary file overwrite. This issue has been fixed in the commit 4e6f8b24ab823146ab8776f0b7fe486ab34d426962d

1In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: qualcomm: rmnet: fix endpoint use-after-free in rmnet_dellink() rmnet_dellink() removes the endpoint from the hash table with hlist_del_init_rcu() and then immediately frees it with kfree(). However, RCU readers on the receive path (rmnet_rx_handler -> __rmnet_map_ingress_handler) may still hold a reference to the endpoint and dereference ep->egress_dev after the memory has been freed. The endpoint is a kmalloc-32 object, and the stale read at offset 8 corresponds to the egress_dev pointer. BUG: unable to handle page fault for address: ffffffffde942eef Oops: 0002 [#1] SMP NOPTI CPU: 1 UID: 0 PID: 137 Comm: poc_write Not tainted 7.0.0+ #4 PREEMPTLAZY RIP: 0010:rmnet_vnd_rx_fixup (rmnet_vnd.c:27) Call Trace: <TASK> __rmnet_map_ingress_handler (rmnet_handlers.c:48 rmnet_handlers.c:101) rmnet_rx_handler (rmnet_handlers.c:129 rmnet_handlers.c:235) __netif_receive_skb_core.constprop.0 (net/core/dev.c:6096) __netif_receive_skb_one_core (net/core/dev.c:6208) netif_receive_skb (net/core/dev.c:6467) tun_get_user (drivers/net/tun.c:1955) tun_chr_write_iter (drivers/net/tun.c:2003) vfs_write (fs/read_write.c:688) ksys_write (fs/read_write.c:740) </TASK> Add an rcu_head field to struct rmnet_endpoint and replace kfree() with kfree_rcu() so the endpoint memory remains valid through the RCU grace period. Also remove the rmnet_vnd_dellink() call and inline only the nr_rmnet_devs decrement, since rmnet_vnd_dellink() would set ep->egress_dev to NULL during the grace period, creating a data race with lockless readers.20d

1In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: MGMT: validate advertising TLV before type checks tlv_data_is_valid() reads each advertising data field length from data[i], then inspects data[i + 1] for managed EIR types before checking that the current field still fits inside the supplied buffer. A malformed field whose length byte is the last byte of the buffer can therefore make the parser read one byte past the advertising data. KASAN reported the following when a malformed MGMT_OP_ADD_ADVERTISING request reached that path: BUG: KASAN: vmalloc-out-of-bounds in tlv_data_is_valid() Read of size 1 Call trace: tlv_data_is_valid() add_advertising() hci_mgmt_cmd() hci_sock_sendmsg() Move the existing element-length check before any type-octet inspection so each non-empty element is proven to contain its type byte before the parser looks at data[i + 1].55d

1ESF-IDF is the Espressif Internet of Things (IOT) Development Framework. In versions 5.5.4 and 6.0, several ESP-TEE secure-service wrappers in esp_secure_services.c and esp_secure_services_iram.c validated only some of the caller-supplied pointer arguments, leaving input pointer arguments unchecked. Because the underlying TEE-protected hardware peripherals (e.g., ECC, SHA, SPI) run in RISC-V machine mode (M-mode) with full address-space access, a caller could supply pointers into TEE-exclusive memory as inputs, causing the peripheral to read TEE memory and return results derived from it to the REE. Depending on the wrapper, the result contains raw bytes from TEE memory, a computed function of TEE memory recoverable through repeated calls, or a single bit per call that forms an oracle for incremental disclosure of TEE-resident sensitive data. This issue has been patched in versions 5.5.5 and 6.0.1.40d

1In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/msm/adreno: Fix a reference leak in a6xx_gpu_init() In a6xx_gpu_init(), node is obtained via of_parse_phandle(). While there was a manual of_node_put() at the end of the common path, several early error returns would bypass this call, resulting in a reference leak. Fix this by using the __free(device_node) cleanup handler to release the reference when the variable goes out of scope. Patchwork: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/700661/15d
