CVE-2026-744438.8 ALT

——1In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/vmwgfx: bound DMA command body size against suffix pointer vmw_cmd_dma() locates the DMA suffix at (unsigned long) &cmd->body + header->size - sizeof(*suffix) without checking that header->size is large enough to contain both cmd->body and the suffix. An undersized header makes the suffix pointer underflow back into the previous command in the bounce buffer. The verifier later writes suffix->maximumOffset, clobbering verified fields of an already-relocated earlier command -- a TOCTOU on the device-visible command stream that lets one command rewrite another's GMR id, surface id, or other authenticated fields. Reject the command if the body is too small for the suffix to fit.20d

——1In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sctp: fix OOB write to userspace in sctp_getsockopt_peer_auth_chunks sctp_getsockopt_peer_auth_chunks() checks that the caller's optval buffer is large enough for the peer AUTH chunk list with if (len < num_chunks) return -EINVAL; but then writes num_chunks bytes to p->gauth_chunks, which lives at offset offsetof(struct sctp_authchunks, gauth_chunks) == 8 inside optval. The check is missing the sizeof(struct sctp_authchunks) = 8-byte header. When the caller supplies len == num_chunks (for any num_chunks > 0) the test passes but copy_to_user() writes sizeof(struct sctp_authchunks) = 8 bytes past the declared buffer. The sibling function sctp_getsockopt_local_auth_chunks() at the next line already has the correct check: if (len < sizeof(struct sctp_authchunks) + num_chunks) return -EINVAL; Align the peer variant with its sibling. Reproducer confirms on v7.0-13-generic: an unprivileged userspace caller that opens a loopback SCTP association with AUTH enabled, queries num_chunks with a short optval, then issues the real getsockopt with len == num_chunks and sentinel bytes painted past the buffer observes those sentinel bytes overwritten with the peer's AUTH chunk type. The bytes written are under the peer's control but land in the caller's own userspace; this is not a kernel memory corruption, but it is a kernel-side contract violation that can silently corrupt adjacent userspace data.114d

——1In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: openvswitch: avoid reallocating confirmed conntrack labels ovs_ct_get_conn_labels() adds the labels extension when a conntrack entry does not have one. Confirmed conntracks can be read locklessly, so adding an extension may reallocate and free the extension block while another CPU accesses it. Only add the extension for unconfirmed conntracks. A confirmed conntrack without labels now fails the caller's label operation instead of reallocating its extension storage.17d

——1In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amd/display: Clamp VBIOS HDMI retimer register count to array size [Why & How] The VBIOS integrated info tables (v1_11 and v2_1) contain HdmiRegNum and Hdmi6GRegNum fields that are used as loop bounds when copying retimer I2C register settings into fixed-size arrays (dp*_ext_hdmi_reg_settings[9] and dp*_ext_hdmi_6g_reg_settings[3]). These u8 fields are not validated before use, so a malformed VBIOS can specify values up to 255, causing an out-of-bounds heap write during driver probe. Clamp each register count to the destination array size using min_t() before the copy loops, in both get_integrated_info_v11() and get_integrated_info_v2_1(). ——1In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: require net admin for CIFS SWN netlink CIFS_GENL_CMD_SWN_NOTIFY is the userspace witness-notify command. The intended sender is the cifs.witness helper, but the generic-netlink operation currently has no capability flag, so any local process can send RESOURCE_CHANGE or CLIENT_MOVE notifications to the in-kernel witness handler. The same family exposes CIFS_GENL_MCGRP_SWN without multicast-group capability flags. Register messages sent to that group include the witness registration id and, for NTLM-authenticated mounts, the username, domain, and password attributes copied from the CIFS session. An unprivileged local process should not be able to join that group and receive those messages. Require CAP_NET_ADMIN for incoming SWN_NOTIFY commands with GENL_ADMIN_PERM, and require CAP_NET_ADMIN over the network namespace for joining the SWN multicast group with GENL_MCAST_CAP_NET_ADMIN. The cifs.witness service runs with the privileges needed for both operations.84d

——1In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Preserve pointer state for commuted arithmetic When scalar += pointer is handled in adjust_ptr_min_max_vals(), the destination register inherits the pointer state from the source pointer. Copying only selected fields is fragile because pointer provenance is tracked by several bpf_reg_state fields. Use the caller's temporary offset register to preserve the scalar operand while replacing the destination with the full pointer state. This preserves the frame number for PTR_TO_STACK registers and keeps parent identity fields consistent.20d

——1In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/vmwgfx: validate DRAW_PRIMITIVES header size before division vmw_cmd_draw() computes maxnum = (header->size - sizeof(cmd->body)) / sizeof(*decl); where header->size is u32 and is taken straight from the user-supplied command stream. When header->size is less than sizeof(cmd->body) the unsigned subtraction wraps to nearly 4 GiB, producing a huge maxnum. Any user-controlled cmd->body.numVertexDecls then passes the bound and the loop dereferences decl[i] far past the end of the kernel command bounce buffer, producing an out-of-bounds read of kernel memory. Reject undersized headers up front.20d

——1In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: SVM: Serialize accesses to the owner and mirror list with separate lock Interaction between KVM_CAP_VM_MOVE_ENC_CONTEXT_FROM and KVM_CAP_VM_COPY_ENC_CONTEXT_FROM can cause two separate issues: - in sev_migrate_from(), when the destination KVM is a mirror, the mirror entry is moved from the source's list to the owner's mirror_vms list, without holding the owner's lock unlike other writers of the owner's mirror list (sev_vm_copy_enc_context_from(), sev_vm_destroy()). A concurrent COPY or destroy can race with sev_migrate_from() and corrupt the list. - In sev_vm_destroy(), the *owner* is still active and could receive concurrently a KVM_CAP_VM_MOVE_ENC_CONTEXT_FROM that causes sev->enc_context_owner to change. In this case the incorrect VM receives kvm_put_kvm(). The second issue needs particular care because the owner could disappear altogether (even though the race window is impossibly small) between reading it and locking it. There is thus no way to perform the checks under the owner lock without putting struct kvm under SLAB_TYPESAFE_BY_RCU (which would allow kvm_get_kvm_safe() under RCU critical section). It is much simpler to just use a global lock, since the critical sections are so small and the new lock is always a leaf lock.20d

——1In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: reset write verifier on deferred writeback errors nfsd_vfs_write() and nfsd_commit() both call filemap_check_wb_err() to detect deferred writeback errors, but neither rotates the server's write verifier (nn->writeverf) when this check fails. Every other durable-storage-failure path in these functions calls commit_reset_write_verifier() before returning an error. The missing rotation means clients holding UNSTABLE write data under the current verifier will COMMIT, receive the unchanged verifier back, and conclude their data is durable — silently dropping data that failed writeback. This violates the UNSTABLE+COMMIT durability contract (RFC 1813 §3.3.7, RFC 8881 §18.32). Add commit_reset_write_verifier() calls at both filemap_check_wb_err() error sites, matching the pattern used by adjacent error paths in the same functions. The helper already filters -EAGAIN and -ESTALE internally, so the calls are unconditionally safe.80d

——1In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: cttimeout: detach dataplane timeout policy and repurpose refcount Add a refcount for struct nf_ct_timeout which is used by ct extension to set the custom ct timeout policy, this tells us that the ct timeout is being used by a conntrack entry. When the last conntrack entry drops the refcount on the ct timeout, the ct timeout is released. Remove the refcount for control plane which controls if the ruleset refers to the timeout policy. After this update, it is possible to remove the ct timeout policy from nfnetlink_cttimeout immediately. This is for simplicity not to handle two refcounts on a single object. Remove nf_queue_nf_hook_drop(): a packet sitting in nfqueue will just hold a reference to the nf_ct_timeout object until packet is reinjected, since this is part of the ct extension, this will be released by the time the conntrack is freed. nf_ct_untimeout() is still called to clean up in a best effort basis: the ct timeout on existing entries gets removed when the ct timeout goes away, but as long as the iptables ruleset still refers to the ct timeout through a template, new conntracks may keep attaching it and extend its lifetime until the rule is removed. nf_ct_untimeout() is not called anymore from module removal path, this is unlikely to find timeouts give module refcount is bumped, and the new refcount already tracks the ct timeout policy use so it is released when unused.6d

——1In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: i2c: smbus: reject oversized block transfers in the common path The SMBus block transfer length data->block[0] is validated in i2c_smbus_xfer_emulated() but that check runs too late for tracepoints and is skipped entirely when the adapter provides a native smbus_xfer implementation. This allows user-controlled oversized block lengths to reach tracepoint memcpy calls and driver callbacks unchecked. Add an early validation in __i2c_smbus_xfer() that rejects block transfers whose caller-supplied length is zero or exceeds I2C_SMBUS_BLOCK_MAX before any tracepoint fires or driver callback runs. data->block[0] is filled in by the device on SMBus block reads, so the check is scoped to operations where the length is actually supplied by the caller. This is consistent with the existing -EINVAL convention in the emulated path and protects all downstream consumers at once: the smbus_write tracepoint, all native smbus_xfer driver implementations, and the emulated path. Two distinct bugs are fixed by this change: Bug 1: smbus_write tracepoint OOB (include/trace/events/smbus.h) trace_smbus_write() fires before any validation and copies data->block[0]+1 bytes into a 34-byte event buffer. With block[0]=0xfe the tracepoint copies 255 bytes, overflowing by 221. ——1In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Reject rdonly/rdwr_buf_size kfunc arguments that exceed u32 max check_kfunc_args() detects a kfunc argument named rdonly_buf_size or rdwr_buf_size and stores reg->var_off.value into meta->r0_size, a u64, and does not bound it. check_kfunc_call() later copies that value into the returned register's mem_size field: meta->r0_size = reg->var_off.value; ... regs[BPF_REG_0].mem_size = meta.r0_size; regs[BPF_REG_0].mem_size is u32. A constant whose upper 32 bits are set gets truncated instead of causing a load-time rejection, so the verifier records a PTR_TO_MEM register with an approximately 4 GiB mem_size for whatever allocation the kfunc returned. A later access check against that register uses the truncated, wrong bound. Reject rdonly_buf_size/rdwr_buf_size values that exceed U32_MAX at the point meta->r0_size is set.6d

——1In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/ucma: Serialize join and leave on copy_to_user failure rdma_join_multicast() queues RoCE work that later reads the ucma_multicast through event->param.ud.private_data, then list_add()s the CMA multicast at the head of id_priv->mc_list. rdma_leave_multicast() matches only by sockaddr and destroys the first hit. ucma_process_join() used to drop ctx->mutex after a successful join and retake it only if copy_to_user() failed. Two concurrent JOIN_MCAST calls with the same address can therefore insert a second CMA entry before the first thread's leave. leave then cancels the newer work and the older worker still dereferences the ucma_multicast that the first thread frees. Keep ctx->mutex held from rdma_join_multicast() through copy_to_user() and, on -EFAULT, through rdma_leave_multicast() so leave cannot miss this join. Do not leave if join itself failed: that path never published this address on mc_list, and a leave-by-addr would destroy an earlier successful join.17d

——1In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: dsa: mxl862xx: disable the stats poll on teardown mxl862xx_setup() arms the stats poll before mxl862xx_setup_mdio(), and nothing stops it until dsa_register_switch() has returned an error to mxl862xx_probe(). DSA frees the dsa_port list before it returns, so a poll that fires once .setup or a later step of dsa_tree_setup() has failed walks freed ports. On shutdown the user ports stay registered, and the WORK_STOPPED flag test in mxl862xx_get_stats64() is not atomic with the cancel in mxl862xx_shutdown(), so a re-arm that read the flag before it was set queues the poll after cancel_delayed_work_sync() has returned. Arm the poll once .setup has succeeded and stop it from a .teardown op, which DSA calls on unregister and after a failed registration, in both cases before it frees the ports. Use disable_delayed_work_sync() there and in shutdown(): it drains a running poll as the cancel did and turns every later attempt to queue the work into a no-op, so the re-arm cannot bring the poll back. remove() and the probe error path only set WORK_STOPPED, which crc_err_work tests before it walks the ports.17d
