Descrição técnica

When a WSO2 product is configured to use an external user store, the system fails to adequately obscure the existence or validity of usernames during authentication attempts. This oversight allows an attacker to repeatedly query the authentication mechanism with different username guesses, enabling the enumeration of valid usernames present in the external user store. The discovery of valid usernames can increase the risk of targeted brute-force attacks, social engineering, and information leakage. Attackers can leverage this information to craft more convincing phishing campaigns or other social engineering tactics to trick users into revealing sensitive data. The presence of username enumeration could also negatively impact an organization's reputation, leading to loss of customer trust, regulatory non-compliance, and potential legal and financial repercussions.

———Vikunja before 2.7.1 contains an information disclosure vulnerability that allows authenticated users to determine whether private teams exist by calling the team member self-removal endpoint. Attackers can send DELETE requests to /teams/{id}/members/{own username} for arbitrary team ids and use the distinguishable responses to learn if a team exists, is SSO-managed, or has a single member.12h

——12SuiteCRM is an open-source, enterprise-ready Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software application. Prior to 7.15.2 and 8.10.2, the /legacy/Api/V8/OAuth2 password-grant endpoint returns distinct error messages for an invalid username and an invalid password. An unauthenticated remote attacker can use those response differences to enumerate valid CRM usernames and target confirmed accounts with password spraying, credential stuffing, brute-force, or social-engineering attacks. This issue is fixed in versions 7.15.2 and 8.10.2.3d

——7HomeBox is a home inventory and organization system. Prior to 0.27.0, the POST /api/v1/users/login endpoint performs password-hash verification only when the submitted username matches an existing account, while unknown usernames return immediately. Although both paths return the same 401 unauthorized response, the processing-time discrepancy allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to distinguish registered email addresses; rate limiting only reduces the number of attempts per window. This issue is fixed in version 0.27.0.3d

——4Open edX Platform enables the authoring and delivery of online learning at any scale. From the Ulmo release until release/ulmo.4 and release/verawood.1, the GET /api/support/v1/manage_course_team/ endpoint in CourseTeamManageAPIView requires only IsAuthenticated and omits the global support-role authorization check intended for this help-desk surface. Any authenticated learner can supply an email, username, or user_id for an arbitrary target and use the 200 and 404 response discrepancy to distinguish an active account from an absent or inactive account. A caller with a course-level or organization-level instructor role can additionally obtain the target user's staff or instructor assignments within the caller's course or organization scope. Anonymous callers remain blocked, and the separately authorized PUT behavior is outside this vulnerability. This issue is fixed in release/ulmo.4 and release/verawood.1.4d

——9blueprintUE Self-Hosted Edition before 4.3.3 contains an account enumeration vulnerability in ForgotPasswordMiddleware.php that allows unauthenticated attackers to identify registered email addresses. Attackers can compare password reset redirect targets for submitted emails, and failed lookups are never rate-limited, enabling unlimited enumeration attempts.4d
