Descrição técnica

Heap-based buffer overflow in the legacy Blowfish decryption routine (BlowFishEncryptor::DecryptFromString) in Progressive Robot hMailServer 6.0.0 through 6.3.3 on Windows allows a local interactive user with no hMailServer credentials to write bytes of their choosing past the end of a 255-byte heap buffer in the hMailServer service process, which runs as LocalSystem by default. The user does this by passing a long hexadecimal string to the COM method Utilities.BlowfishDecrypt, which checked no authentication. The routine converted hexadecimal input of any length into a fixed 255-byte buffer before decrypting it in place. The result is a denial of service (service crash), and possibly code execution with the privileges of the service account.

——0FreeSWITCH is an open-source software telecommunications platform. Before version 1.11.2, an integer underflow in  switch_xml_decode()  can cause an undersized heap allocation when an XML document declares an entity with an empty replacement value. Subsequent copying overruns the allocated buffer. An unauthenticated attacker who can reach a SIP profile with presence management enabled and DTD processing permitted can trigger the vulnerability through a crafted SIP PUBLISH request. Exploitation can corrupt heap memory and terminate the FreeSWITCH process, interrupting all active calls. This vulnerability is fixed in version 1.11.2.8h

——0FreeSWITCH is a Software Defined Telecom Stack enabling the digital transformation from proprietary telecom switches to a software implementation that runs on any commodity hardware. Prior to 1.11.2, ws_read_frame() decoded a WebSocket frame's 64-bit extended payload length with a 32-bit byte swap and narrowed the result into a signed length. A value whose surviving low word became negative bypassed the signed size check and was reinterpreted as an enormous unsigned count, causing client bytes to overwrite memory beyond the 64 KiB receive buffer. Any client completing a /socket WebSocket upgrade on an enabled mod_xml_rpc endpoint reached the parser before HTTP authentication; both the module and WebSocket endpoint are disabled by default. The heap overwrite can corrupt connection pointers and crash FreeSWITCH, ending every concurrent session, although remote code execution has not been demonstrated. This issue is fixed in version 1.11.2.8h

——0accel-ppp before 1.15.0 contains a heap buffer overflow vulnerability in the tcp, syslog and pgsql log targets that allows unauthenticated remote peers to overflow fixed heap buffers by producing log lines exceeding LOG_MAX_SIZE. Attackers within client-ip-range can send an L2TP Start-Control-Connection-Request with many string AVPs when verbose logging is enabled to corrupt heap memory and crash the daemon.11h

——0WebAssembly Micro Runtime (WAMR) is a lightweight standalone WebAssembly (Wasm) runtime. Prior to 2.4.5, wasi_poll_oneoff in core/iwasm/libraries/libc-wasi/libc_wasi_wrapper.c validates the output pointer for only one wasi_event_t, while wasmtime_ssp_poll_oneoff in core/iwasm/libraries/libc-wasi/sandboxed-system-primitives/src/posix.c can write as many events as the guest-controlled nsubscriptions value. A crafted guest module can provide multiple subscriptions that produce events while positioning an output region large enough for only one event, causing a later out[nevents] write to cross the validated Wasm linear-memory boundary into adjacent host heap memory. The overwrite contains partly attacker-controlled event data and can reliably crash the host process, with further confidentiality or integrity consequences depending on heap layout. This issue is fixed in version 2.4.5.12h

——0A local privilege escalation vulnerability in Thales SafeNet Authentication Client (SAC) SACSrv can allow an authenticated, non-administrator local user to trigger a heap-based buffer overflow through the service interface. Successful exploitation may allow arbitrary code execution with Local System privileges. This issue affects SAC releases up to and including 10.9 R3 GA (build 10.9.7449).9h

——0A heap buffer overflow in gdbserver's QTDPsrc packet handler allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to achieve native code execution in the gdbserver process. The vulnerability results from a mismatch between a packet's declared source length and the actual data length, causing hex2bin to write beyond the allocated heap buffer.11h
