Descrição técnica

Excelize is a Go language library for reading and writing Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. From 2.1.0 to 2.11.0, flatCols expands file-loaded column ranges without validating Min and Max against the worksheet column limit. SetColWidth reaches flatCols, which expands xlsxCol.Min through xlsxCol.Max without enforcing MaxColumns. When a crafted worksheet supplies an oversized col max attribute and the application invokes a column mutator, flatCols performs a deep copy and append for every attacker-selected column number, allowing an attacker to consume excessive CPU and memory or trigger OOM. No fixed version is available as of this review.

——0FreeSWITCH is a Software Defined Telecom Stack enabling the digital transformation from proprietary telecom switches to a software implementation that runs on any commodity hardware. Prior to 1.11.2, mod_event_socket used an unauthenticated Content-Length value directly as the allocation size for an Event Socket message body. Negative or extremely large values could overflow the terminator calculation or force an allocation failure through a helper that aborts the FreeSWITCH process. The header is parsed before the Event Socket password, so any host admitted by apply-inbound-acl can trigger termination with its first packet; the default loopback ACL limits ordinary installations to local clients. The outbound socket dialplan path is also affected when FreeSWITCH connects to a hostile application server, and process termination drops every active call until the service is restarted. This issue is fixed in version 1.11.2.6h

——8A vulnerability has been found in laspy up to 2.7.0. Affected by this issue is some unknown functionality of the file laspy/lasreader.py of the component LAS File Handler. The manipulation leads to uncontrolled memory allocation. Remote exploitation of the attack is possible.7h

——10CESNET ipfixcol2 2.7.1 before 2.9.0 contains a memory allocation vulnerability in Lz4Decoder::read_start_header() that allows unauthenticated attackers to exhaust memory by declaring unbounded ring buffer sizes. Attackers can open TCP connections sending LZ4 start headers with very large buffer sizes, forcing up to 4 GiB allocations per connection and denying collector service.7h

——4Unbounded memory allocation and missing frame size validation in Apache NMS ActiveMQ (the .NET OpenWire client, package Apache.NMS.ActiveMQ) before 2.3.0. The OpenWire unmarshalling code trusted the frame size and the length and count fields read from the network. It did not enforce a maximum frame size, and it did not check that decoded lengths fit within the frame being read. A malicious or compromised broker, or an attacker able to intercept and modify an unencrypted connection, could send a crafted OpenWire frame with an oversized or negative length. This could cause the client to attempt very large memory allocations, leading to excessive memory consumption, an OutOfMemoryException or an uncaught exception, and a denial of service of the client application. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 2.3.0, which enforces a configurable maximum frame size and validates lengths against the size of the frame being read.2d

——6isomorphic-git is a pure JavaScript implementation of Git for Node.js and browsers. Prior to 1.38.6, isomorphic-git reads a server-controlled targetSize while applying a packfile delta in src/utils/applyDelta.js and passes it without a bound to Buffer.alloc(targetSize). A malicious or man-in-the-middle-controlled remote can send one delta header that causes git.clone() or git.fetch() to allocate approximately 2 GB before validating the actual delta output. GitPackIndex.fromPack swallows the later size-mismatch error, so a host with sufficient memory may retain the resource waste without a visible failure, while containers, serverless functions, and small virtual machines may terminate. Node.js heap limits do not mitigate the off-heap Buffer allocation. This issue is fixed in version 1.38.6.2d

——7Memory allocation with an excessive size value in Apache Wicket. org.apache.wicket.markup.html.form.upload.resource.FileUploadToResourceField uploads files to a separately mounted resource rather than through a form, and is told the outcome afterwards over its own Ajax callback. That callback reads the request parameter filesInfo, a JSON array carrying a client file name, a size and a content type for each file, and turns it into the list of FileUploadToResourceField.UploadInfo that onUploadSuccess() receives. Nothing binds that JSON to an upload the resource performed and nothing re-derives it from the stored files, so the number of entries and every value in them are whatever the request supplied. The callback URL is rendered into the page, no prior upload is required, and both GET and POST reach it, so any client that can load the page can have the component report files that were never uploaded, without authenticating beyond whatever the page itself requires and without any user interaction. UploadInfo#get(), which the class offers as the way to obtain the bytes of an upload, allocates a byte array from UploadInfo#getSize() before it opens the file. The array is therefore sized by the number the request supplied, and the allocation happens even for a file that was never stored. One small request can cost the server close to two gigabytes of heap, and the request is trivially repeatable, so a few of them exhaust the heap for every request the Java virtual machine is serving. A size that the conversion to int turns negative instead throws NegativeArraySizeException, which the exception handler inside that method does not cover, so it escapes into the application. An application is affected where it uses FileUploadToResourceField, which is not the ordinary upload path through FileUploadField and Form and has to be extended and mounted deliberately. The allocation additionally requires the application to call UploadInfo#get() rather than reading UploadInfo#getFile() itself. Where the application denies the ENABLE action on the field through its authorization strategy, the callback is refused like any other listener. The 8.x line does not contain this component and is not affected. This issue affects Apache Wicket: from 9.14.0 through 9.24.0, from 10.0.0 through 10.11.0. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 9.25.0 or 10.12.0, which fix the issue.3d
