Descrição técnica

msgpack5 is a msgpack v5 implementation for node.js and the browser. Prior to 6.1.0, the streaming decoder reparses an incomplete array or map from the beginning whenever another chunk arrives. A remote peer can split one valid MessagePack container across many small chunks, causing completed elements to be decoded repeatedly, producing quadratic CPU use and blocking the event loop. This issue is fixed in version 6.1.0.

——7Kyverno before 1.19.2 contains a denial of service vulnerability that allows namespaced policy authors to exhaust admission controller CPU by submitting pathological wildcard patterns. Attackers can create a Policy with crafted match and exclude names evaluated by ValidateMatchExcludeConflict, pinning cores and causing cluster-wide webhook timeouts that block resource operations.22h

——2One CBOR-parsing issue in jackson-dataformats-binary's CBOR module: an unbounded run of CBOR tags drives quadratic-time TagList growth (CPU/GC-exhaustion DoS, PoC-proven). PoC executed against com.fasterxml.jackson.dataformat:jackson-dataformat-cbor:2.18.2; present in current 2.x and 3.x (tools.jackson.dataformat.cbor) HEAD. Distinct from the Avro and Smile/Protobuf advisories for this repo. Quadratic CPU/GC DoS from an unbounded chain of CBOR tags (PoC-proven). File: cbor/src/main/java/.../cbor/CBORParser.java (tag handling -> TagList). CBOR permits a data item to be preceded by any number of semantic tags. The CBOR parser accumulates them in a TagList whose backing array grows by a fixed increment (+8), not by doubling, and re-scans/copies on each growth. An attacker sends a value preceded by a long run of tag bytes; the fixed-increment growth makes accumulating N tags O(N^2) in time (plus GC pressure), with no cap on the number of stacked tags. PoC (executed, JDK 17): feeding a CBOR stream consisting of a long run of tag bytes (e.g. tag 0xC0+) before a trivial value forces quadratic CPU/GC; parse time grows super-linearly with the tag count, pinning a request thread with no configurable limit. Impact. Algorithmic-complexity denial of service (CWE-407): a modest input of stacked tags consumes quadratic CPU/GC, pinning a request thread; concurrent requests exhaust the pool. Fix. Grow TagList by doubling and/or cap the number of stacked tags (StreamReadConstraints-style).2d

——15rsync before 3.5.2 contains a denial of service vulnerability in the delta-transfer sender's hash_search() in match.c that allows malicious receivers to trigger unbounded strong-checksum work at consecutive offsets. Unauthenticated attackers pulling from a public daemon module can supply weak checksums colliding with consecutive rolling windows plus non-matching strong checksums, exhausting sender CPU across concurrent connections.2d

——15Mistune from 3.3.0 before 3.3.4 contains a denial of service vulnerability that allows remote attackers to exhaust CPU through quadratic-time emphasis delimiter processing. Attackers can submit small markdown documents with repeated patterns like "*a_b" to trigger an O(n²) index-fixup loop, stalling workers for seconds.3d

——11Daptin is a GraphQL/JSON-API headless CMS. Prior to 0.12.26, the global `LanguageMiddleware` in `server/language.go` passes the raw `Accept-Language` header from `LanguageMiddlewareFunc` through `GetLanguagePreference` to `golang.org/x/text/language.ParseAcceptLanguage` without a size or shape filter. The guard for CVE-2022-32149 counts hyphens but not underscores, even though the internal parser normalizes underscores to hyphens. Long lists of underscore-separated language subtags longer than eight characters bypass the guard. These subtags fail the `len <= 8` length check in `golang.org/x/text/internal/language/parse.go`, causing repeated `gobble` operations to move the entire remaining buffer through `runtime.memmove`. With many invalid subtags, this repeated buffer movement takes quadratic work. Unauthenticated requests to the public landing page or `/api` can consume disproportionate CPU, with a 256 KiB header already causing seconds of processing and larger input permitted by the default 1 MiB header ceiling. `resource.CheckErr` also logs the entire invalid header, amplifying cost, while normal successful HTTP responses can conceal the denial-of-service traffic. Repeated requests can saturate server CPU. This issue is fixed in version 0.12.26.7d

——3DateTime::Lite versions before 0.8.1 for Perl allow CPU exhaustion via a per-day loop when adding seconds. _normalize_leap_seconds crosses day boundaries one day at a time, so add(seconds => $n) on an object with a non-floating time zone takes about |$n|/86400 iterations, and nothing limits $n. The XS implementation and the pure-Perl fallback both have the loop. An attacker who controls the number of seconds added can keep the process busy for as long as they choose.7d
