Descrição técnica

A flaw was found in the internal WebAssembly (WASM) shim used by the Kuadrant operator. When generating the CEL predicate that determines whether Gateway-level authentication and rate limiting should run, the shim does not correctly escape values from HTTPRoute match fields. A user who can create or modify an HTTPRoute attached to a shared Gateway can provide a crafted path, header, or query match value that causes the predicate to skip those checks. The request is still forwarded to the route’s backend.

——0Improper Neutralization of Special Elements Used in an Expression Language Statement ('Expression Language Injection') in EmailServices in Apache OFBiz 24.09 before 24.09.08 on all platforms allows a remote authenticated attacker holding only OFBTOOLS_VIEW and ACCOUNTING_VIEW, the two view-level permissions that open the Accounting application, to execute arbitrary operating system commands as the account running OFBiz, by submitting a ${groovy:...} expression as the bodyText or subject value to the shipped Send Per Email invoice form, because sendMailFromScreen passes those caller-supplied values through FlexibleStringExpander.expandString, which compiles and evaluates embedded Groovy on a class loader that carries none of the SecureASTCustomizer restrictions GroovyUtil.eval applies elsewhere, behind a service and request-map that declare no permission check beyond base authentication. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 24.09.08, which fixes this issue.4h

——17Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an Expression Language Statement ('Expression Language Injection') vulnerability in Apache Camel AWS2-s3 component. This issue affects Apache Camel: from 4.8.0 before 4.18.5, from 4.19.0 before 4.22.2. For the object it uploads, reads or deletes, the camel-aws2-s3 producer takes the key from the CamelAwsS3Key message header and falls back to the keyName option configured on the endpoint only when that header is absent. Since 4.8.0, AWS2S3Utils.determineKey() also passed the resulting value to the Simple language whenever it contained ${ or $simple{, so that a route could use a dynamic key, and the evaluation applied to a value taken from the header as well as to the configured option. The header is not route configuration, however: the aws2-s3 consumer sets CamelAwsS3Key on the exchanges it creates to the key of the object it read, that is, the name of the object in the bucket. In a route that does nothing more than consume from one aws2-s3 endpoint and produce to another, the name of each consumed object therefore reached the producer, and a name containing either marker was evaluated as an expression, although the route author never asked for any evaluation, and configuring keyName on the producer did not prevent it, because the header took precedence. A key that a route copied into the header from other message content was evaluated in the same way. Anyone able to choose the name of an object in a bucket that such a route consumes, typically a principal allowed to upload to that bucket, could therefore have Simple expressions of their choosing evaluated in the Camel process. The Simple language can read JVM system properties, environment variables and configuration properties, which commonly carry credentials, and, where camel-bean is on the classpath, invoke methods on beans in the registry. The evaluated result became the key the producer used, so reading a value back additionally required the ability to see object names in the destination bucket, while a method invocation took effect without it; together with the need to name an object in a consumed bucket, this is why the severity is assessed medium. The bucket name went through the same evaluation, but the consumer only ever places the bucket configured on its own endpoint in a bucket header, never a value derived from a remote object, so the bucket name was not reachable in this way. Releases before 4.8.0 used the key from the header as given and are not affected. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 4.23.0, which fixes the issue. If users are on the 4.22.x releases stream, then they are suggested to upgrade to 4.22.2. If users are on the 4.18.x releases stream, then they are suggested to upgrade to 4.18.5. The 4.8.x to 4.17.x and 4.19.x to 4.21.x release lines reached end of life before this issue was resolved and will not receive a fix, so deployments on them must move to a supported release. After upgrading, a key or bucket name supplied through a message header is used literally, so a route that put an unevaluated Simple expression in the CamelAwsS3Key or CamelAwsS3OverrideBucketName header must evaluate it in the route instead, for example with setHeader and simple(), or configure it as the keyName or bucketName option of the endpoint. For deployments that cannot upgrade immediately, do not let a key derived from an object name or from other untrusted message content reach an aws2-s3 producer unchecked: in routes that pass exchanges from an aws2-s3 consumer to an aws2-s3 producer, either remove the CamelAwsS3Key header before the producer with removeHeader(“CamelAwsS3Key”), so that the keyName configured on the endpoint is used, or reject exchanges whose CamelAwsS3Key header contains ${ or $simple{. Configuring keyName alone is not a workaround, because the header takes precedence over it. As defence in depth, allow only trusted principals to write to buckets that Camel routes consume.4d

——14Camunda 7.24.0 before 7.24.14 and 7.23.0 before 7.23.17 contains an expression injection vulnerability where AdhocQueryValidator.validate() fails to check sub-query expression maps within the orQueries field exposed by TaskQueryDto, allowing authenticated users to bypass the enableExpressionsInAdhocQueries restriction. Attackers can supply a malicious JUEL expression such as dueAfterExpression inside an orQueries entry to achieve arbitrary Java reflection and invoke java.lang.Runtime.exec, resulting in operating-system command execution as the engine service user.18d

——17Improper Control of Generation of Code ('Code Injection'), Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an Expression Language Statement ('Expression Language Injection') vulnerability in Apache Camel. This issue affects Apache Camel: from 4.4.0 before 4.18.5, from 4.19.0 before 4.22.1. The dynamic-router-control endpoint, introduced in 4.4.0, lets routing participants manage Dynamic Router subscriptions by sending control messages. When it handled a subscribe or update request, DynamicRouterControlProducer took the subscription predicate and the name of the language used to compile it from the incoming message, either from the predicate and expressionLanguage fields of a DynamicRouterControlMessage body or from the CamelDynamicRouterPredicate and CamelDynamicRouterExpressionLanguage headers. DynamicRouterControlService then resolved that language from the CamelContext and compiled the expression into a Predicate, with no allow-list and no opt-in. The compiled predicate was added to the channel's rule base and evaluated against every exchange routed through the corresponding dynamic-router endpoint for as long as the subscription existed. A route that forwards messages from an external transport to the control endpoint, as shown in the component documentation for routing participants in other JVMs or applications, therefore let any actor able to send a message on that transport supply an expression of their choosing, which was evaluated with the privileges of the Camel process. Any expression language available on the classpath could be selected, including the simple language, which is always present and was the default on the header path, so removing optional expression languages from the classpath did not prevent the issue. Exploitation requires the ability to send a message on a transport whose route forwards it to a dynamic-router-control endpoint; no other authentication or user interaction is needed. Releases before 4.4.0 are not affected, because their control channel took predicate expressions only from the endpoint URI configured by the route author. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 4.23.0, which fixes the issue. If users are on the 4.22.x releases stream, then they are suggested to upgrade to 4.22.1. If users are on the 4.18.x releases stream, then they are suggested to upgrade to 4.18.5. The 4.14.x releases stream and earlier reached end of life before this issue was resolved and will not receive a fix, so deployments on those lines must move to a supported release. After upgrading, a control message that carries a predicate expression or an expression language is rejected unless the new allowPredicateFromMessage option is enabled on the dynamic-router-control endpoint; enable it only when every sender of control messages is trusted. For deployments that cannot upgrade immediately, do not forward messages from untrusted or shared transports to a dynamic-router-control endpoint. Where control messages must cross such a transport, authenticate the sender and make sure the predicate and expression language of each subscription are set by the route rather than taken from the incoming message, for example by removing the CamelDynamicRouterPredicate and CamelDynamicRouterExpressionLanguage headers and clearing the predicate and expressionLanguage fields of a DynamicRouterControlMessage before it reaches the endpoint. Removing optional expression languages from the classpath is not a sufficient workaround. As defence in depth, restrict who can send to the transports that feed the control endpoint, and on 4.23.0 and 4.22.1 set the allowedSchemes option of the dynamic-router endpoint to limit which endpoints a subscription's destinationUri may name.17d

——22Improper neutralization of special elements used in an expression language statement ('Expression Language Injection') vulnerability in Apache Struts. If the application is configured to use the legacy RESTful action mapper, a crafted request can inject an OGNL expression that may lead to remote code execution. Struts 7 is affected only when the OGNL allowlist is disabled; it is enabled by default. Applications using the default action mapper, the restful2 mapper, or the Struts REST plugin are not affected. This issue affects Apache Struts: from 2.0.0 through 2.3.37, from 2.5.0 through 2.5.33, from 6.0.0 through 6.11.0, from 7.0.0 through 7.3.0. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 6.12.0 or 7.4.0, which fixes the issue.29d

——4In the StAX streaming WS-SecurityPolicy validator, certain relative or unsupported XPath expressions can be converted into paths that never match the actual XML element path. A remote SOAP peer may therefore send a required element without the expected signature or encryption. Users are recommended to upgrade to versions 4.0.2 or 3.0.6 or 2.4.4, which fix this issue.31d
