Descrição técnica

isomorphic-git is a pure JavaScript implementation of Git for Node.js and browsers. Prior to 1.38.6, isomorphic-git's git.checkout writes new child paths through symlinked leading directory components without checking them. A malicious repository can first place a directory symlink and later replace the tree state with a child file beneath that path; the usual trigger is a clone followed by a later pull, while a single clone can trigger the issue when a symlink already exists or the consuming application accesses the tree. With Node fs on Linux or macOS, the operating system can resolve the write outside the working tree, permitting arbitrary host file writes and possible code execution. Node fs on Windows usually blocks the symlink plant without additional privilege, and browser or in-memory providers limit impact to their virtual filesystem and are affected only when they implement symlink creation and following. This issue is fixed in version 1.38.6.

—
———Tornado before 6.6 contains a path traversal vulnerability in RequestHandler.static_url() and get_version() that allows attackers to hash files outside static_path using ../ sequences. Attackers controlling input passed to static_url() can obtain SHA-512 hashes of readable files to confirm their existence, or reference /dev/zero to block the event loop indefinitely.3h

———gix-fs in gitoxide before 0.24.1 contains a credential disclosure vulnerability that allows remote attackers to capture NTLM credentials by supplying UNC symlink targets in a crafted repository. When a victim checks out the repository on Windows with symlinks enabled, gix_fs::symlink::create calls is_dir() on the UNC target, triggering SMB authentication that leaks the username, domain, and NTLMv2 hash.3h

———Vikunja veans before 2.7.1 contains a symlink following vulnerability that allows attackers to make veans init write files outside the repository via crafted repo symlinks. Attackers can ship symlinked .veans.yml, .claude, or .opencode entries to overwrite user files like ~/.bashrc or install veans hooks and plugins globally.3h

——0The Motors – Car Dealership & Classified Listings Plugin plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file deletion due to insufficient file path validation in the stm_listings_ajax_save_user_data function in all versions up to, and including, 1.4.125 This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access and above, to delete arbitrary files on the server, which can easily lead to remote code execution when the right file is deleted (such as wp-config.php). Although deletion is bounded to wp-content/uploads (preventing removal of wp-config.php), any authenticated Subscriber can trivially exploit this because the required AJAX nonce is printed on every front-end page and the handler's stm_user_avatar_path meta is writable by any logged-in user against their own account.10h

——18The wpForo Forum plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file deletion due to insufficient file path validation in the theme_delete function in all versions up to, and including, 3.2.2 This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access and above, to delete arbitrary files on the server, which can easily lead to remote code execution when the right file is deleted (such as wp-config.php). This exploit chain is reachable only on sites where an administrator has created a custom wpForo secondary usergroup with a blank WordPress role and the 'mth' (Manage Themes) capability; on such sites, an attacker can self-register and claim that group via the unguarded wpforo_secondary_groupids[] POST field, bypassing the role-based group filter and gaining theme-management access as a Subscriber.19h

——16The Vanquish Upload Files for WooCommerce plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Directory Traversal in all versions up to, and including, 2.7.13 via the 'vanupfi_file_name' parameter parameter. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access and above, to read the contents of arbitrary files on the server, which can contain sensitive information. The authorization bypass is achieved by supplying a non-existent order ID (e.g., '.pdf'), which causes wc_get_order() to return false and short-circuits the vanupfi_user_can_access_order_files() check, while the is_pdf() branch selector's loose strpos() substring match allows a traversal payload such as '../.pdf/../../../../wp-config.php' to satisfy the PDF branch and be streamed verbatim via readfile().22h
