Descrição técnica

Deserialization of Untrusted Data vulnerability in Apache Camel Spring Redis component. This issue affects Apache Camel: from 2.11.0 before 4.18.5, from 4.19.0 before 4.22.1. RedisConfiguration.getSerializer lazily built a bare JdkSerializationRedisSerializer whenever no serializer option was configured, and that instance was used for every read the component performs. Spring's implementation delegates through DeserializingConverter to DefaultDeserializer, which reads the bytes with a ConfigurableObjectInputStream and installs no java.io.ObjectInputFilter on the stream, so an arbitrary serialized class graph was materialised and its readObject method executed. RedisConsumer.setBody applied that serializer to the raw bytes of every message published to the subscribed channels, before the Exchange was constructed and therefore before any route logic could inspect the message, so an actor able to issue PUBLISH on a subscribed channel reached the deserialization sink directly. The same default serializer backed the RedisTemplate built by RedisConfiguration.createDefaultTemplate, so the producer read commands GET, HGET, HGETALL and HVALS deserialized whatever was stored in the Redis keyspace, and SpringRedisIdempotentRepository shared that template. Configuring a custom redisTemplate did not close the consumer path, because RedisConsumer.setBody reads getSerializer directly rather than the serializer attached to the template, so a deployment that had wired a String serializer into its own template remained exposed on the consumer side unless it also set the serializer option. The component never constructed a java.io.ObjectInputStream itself, which is why earlier passes over the Camel codebase for unfiltered Java deserialization did not reach it. The behaviour dates back to the introduction of the component, first released in 2.11.0, and was unchanged until this fix. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 4.23.0, which fixes the issue. If users are on the 4.22.x releases stream, then they are suggested to upgrade to 4.22.1. If users are on the 4.18.x releases stream, then they are suggested to upgrade to 4.18.5. The 4.14.x releases stream and earlier reached end of life before this issue was resolved and will not receive a fix, so deployments on those lines must move to a supported release. For deployments that cannot upgrade immediately, set the JVM-wide jdk.serialFilter system property, which the affected code path honours because it reads through a java.io.ObjectInputStream, for example -Djdk.serialFilter=!java.net.**;java.**;javax.**;org.apache.camel.**;!* ; or set the serializer endpoint option to a serializer that does not use Java serialization, such as StringRedisSerializer, noting that this must be set as the serializer option and not only on a custom redisTemplate. As defence in depth, require authentication on the Redis instance and restrict which clients may publish to the subscribed channels, and do not expose a Redis instance consumed by Camel to untrusted networks.

———The Advanced Form Integration — Connect Forms to 300+ Apps plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to PHP Object Injection in all versions up to, and including, 2.10.2 via deserialization of untrusted input . This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject a PHP Object. No known POP chain is present in the vulnerable software, which means this vulnerability has no impact unless another plugin or theme containing a POP chain is installed on the site. If a POP chain is present via an additional plugin or theme installed on the target system, it may allow the attacker to perform actions like delete arbitrary files, retrieve sensitive data, or execute code depending on the POP chain present. Exploitation requires that an administrator has previously configured at least one active NexForms integration (status=1) in the plugin's database table; in the free tier, only POST parameter keys containing the substrings 'name', 'email', 'first', or 'last' are routed to the vulnerable normalizer.10h

———The QA Assistants – Driven by data plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to PHP Object Injection in all versions up to, and including, 5.3.0 via the 'dlevent_ver' parameter. This is due to unrestricted PHP deserialization via wrap_unserialize_static() calling unserialize() without an allowed_classes restriction, combined with serialize_escape() failing to sanitize path traversal sequences in the raw_name parameter. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject a PHP Object. The Guzzle FileCookieJar gadget present in the plugin's bundled Composer dependencies can be leveraged to perform an Arbitrary File Write, writing attacker-controlled content to an attacker-chosen filename, which can result in Remote Code Execution. Exploitation requires triggering the qahm_cron_data_manage scheduled event via wp-cron.php to invoke the deserialization sink against a planted queue file, but this endpoint requires no authentication and fires automatically on a two-minute schedule.12h

——0The WPSyncSheets For Contact Form 7 – CF7 Google Sheets Connector & Save to Database plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Remote Code Execution in all versions up to, and including, 1.8.0 via the 'any non-system CF7 field (e.g., your-message)' parameter parameter. This is due to insufficient sanitization of CF7 submission field values before database storage and the absence of an allowed_classes restriction on maybe_unserialize() during admin retrieval. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to execute code on the server. Successful exploitation of the remote code execution gadget chain requires that a Google Sheets access token be configured in the plugin (its primary advertised feature), as this triggers autoloading of the bundled Monolog 2.10.0 library whose classes form the exploitable gadget chain; however, the underlying PHP Object Injection occurs regardless.1d

Attackers can store pickled objects in HDF5 string nodes that StringARRAY.array_to_string() passes to pickle.loads() when the node is browsed or read, place Python expressions in HDF5 attributes that JsonConverter.json2object() evaluates, supply a .dock file that load_layout_state() unpickles from the Dashboard Load layout action, or embed Python expressions in XML settings files that elt_to_dict() and set_txt_from_elt() evaluate.2d
