Descrição técnica

Use-after-free in the RTMP protocol implementation in Apache bRPC (version < 1.18.0) on all platforms allows a malicious RTMP peer to crash the process or potentially corrupt memory via a crafted Abort message. Root Cause: When processing an RTMP Abort (protocol control message type 2), the RTMP policy implementation deleted the target RtmpChunkStream object. The send path (RtmpUnsentMessage::AppendAndDestroySelf -> RtmpChunkStream::SerializeMessage) runs concurrently on sender threads and dereferences the same RtmpChunkStream object without synchronization. If a remote peer sends an Abort message naming a chunk stream that is concurrently being used to serialize an outgoing message, the stream object is freed while still in use, resulting in a use-after-free. Additionally, deleting the chunk stream discarded its previous message header, so subsequent compressed (type-3) chunk headers on that stream could no longer be decoded. Affected Scenarios: Any application using the bRPC RTMP protocol implementation (rtmp policy), either as an RTMP server or as an RTMP client, where the remote endpoint is untrusted. The attacker needs to send an Abort message targeting a chunk stream id that is concurrently used for sending, which can crash the process or lead to memory corruption. How to Fix: (Choose one of the following options) 1. Upgrade bRPC to version 1.18.0, which fixes this issue. 2. Apply this patch: https://github.com/apache/brpc/pull/3515

——0Fraunhofer HHI VVdeC before 3.2.1 contains a heap use-after-free vulnerability in DecLibRecon::createSubPicRefBufs because decompressPicture clears m_subPicExtTasks without waiting for pending tasks. Attackers can supply a crafted multi-subpicture VVC bitstream to decoders using two or more threads, causing heap memory corruption or a decoder crash.23h

——0Fraunhofer HHI VVdeC before 3.2.1 contains a heap use-after-free vulnerability that allows attackers to corrupt memory by redefining an ALF adaptation parameter set id still referenced by slices. Attackers can supply a crafted VVC bitstream that, with multithreaded decoding, makes worker threads dereference freed APS objects in CABACReader::readAlf() and AdaptiveLoopFilter::reconstructCoeff(), causing crashes or heap corruption.23h

——13CivetWeb through 1.16, when built with USE_HTTP2 and enable_http2 on, contains a use-after-free vulnerability in handle_http2() that retains freed :method and :path pointers. Unauthenticated remote attackers can send a later HEADERS frame omitting these pseudo-headers to influence request method or path seen by access rules, or crash the server.2d

——6FastNetMon is a high-performance DDoS detector and sensor. In version 1.2.9 and earlier, peer_find_template() in src/netflow_plugin/netflow_collector.cpp and src/netflow_plugin/netflow_v9_collector.cpp returns a pointer into global_netflow9_templates after releasing the cache mutex. On deployments with at least two entries in netflow_ports, concurrent template redefinition and data-flowset processing can let add_update_peer_template() reassign the template and free its records vector while another listener dereferences the escaped pointer. An unauthenticated sender that can reach both NetFlow/IPFIX listener ports can trigger a heap-use-after-free and reliably crash FastNetMon. No fixed release is available as of this review.3d
