Summary description

Google Pixel devices contain an improper authorization vulnerability in the cellular modem. A logic error may allow an attacker to bypass permission checks and escalate privileges.

Required action

Apply mitigations in accordance with vendor instructions, ensuring compliance with CISA’s BOD 26-04 Prioritizing Security Updates Based on Risk (see URL in Notes) guidance and CISA’s “Forensics Triage Requirements” (see URL in Notes). Follow applicable BOD 26-04 guidance for cloud services or discontinue use of the product if mitigations are unavailable. Stakeholders are responsible for evaluating each asset's internet exposure and ensuring adherence to BOD 26-04 patching guidelines.

Notes

https://source.android.com/docs/security/bulletin/pixel/2026/2026-09-01 ; BOD 26-04: https://www.cisa.gov/news-events/directives/bod-26-04-prioritizing-security-updates-based-risk ; Forensics Triage Requirements: https://www.cisa.gov/news-events/directives/bod-26-04-implementation-guidance-prioritizing-security-updates-based-risk ; https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-58704

Technical description

In Cellular Modem, there is a possible permission bypass due to a logic error in the code. This could lead to remote (proximal/adjacent) escalation of privilege with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation.

———Highflame ramparts 0.8.1 through 0.8.10 contains a security scan bypass vulnerability that allows attackers to hide malicious payloads because collect_bundle_siblings and walk_bundle_subdir skip nested directories and .pyc files. Attackers can distribute a skill bundle with an unchecked-hash .pyc under scripts/<subdir>/__pycache__/ that ramparts silently ignores, while CPython executes it when the skill runs.14h

——0Improper Authorization vulnerability in Drupal Field Collection for Drupal 7 allows a user with the "edit field collections" permission to bypass access control on the parent (host) entity. The access check for field collection items (field_collection_item_access()) granted edit and delete access to any user holding the "edit field collections" permission without verifying the user's access to the host entity. As a result, a user with "edit field collections" but without edit/update access to the host entity (for example a node they cannot edit) could edit or delete field collection items attached to that entity, bypassing the intended entity/node access restrictions. The fix requires access to the parent entity in addition to the field collection permission. This issue affects Field Collection for Drupal 7: version 7.x-1.0 up to and including 7.x-1.2.1d

——0In Trail of Bits fickling through 0.1.12, the _process_import() method in fickle.py adds an imported name to the likely_safe_imports set whenever the source module is present in sys.stdlib_module_names and the name is absent from the UNSAFE_IMPORTS denylist, without inspecting what the name resolves to or how it behaves. The OvertlyBadEvals analysis pass in analysis.py then unconditionally skips any call whose function name appears in likely_safe_imports, including calls that would otherwise be flagged as overtly dangerous. As a result, any callable reachable through a non-blocked standard library module inherits module-level trust regardless of its own behavior, and check_safety() returns LIKELY_SAFE with zero findings for pickle payloads that reach code execution or file write through such callables. Demonstrated primitives: dataclasses._create_fn, which passes an attacker-controlled function body to exec() and yields arbitrary code execution on Python 3.7 through 3.12 (the internal _create_fn function was removed in Python 3.13); mailcap.findmatch, which internally calls os.system() on a test command taken from an attacker-controlled caps dictionary, yielding arbitrary code execution on Python versions through 3.12 (the mailcap module was removed in Python 3.13); and readline.add_history() followed by readline.write_history_file(), which writes attacker-controlled content to an arbitrary filesystem path (POSIX platforms, where the readline module is available). fickling.load() chains check_safety() into pickle.loads() as an explicit security gate, so a LIKELY_SAFE verdict causes the payload to be deserialized and executed with the privileges of the victim process. The root cause is the inference of callable safety from module origin; it is independent of, and separately fixable from, the dotted __qualname__ resolution weakness tracked as CVE-2026-118938, which this advisory does not address. As of 2026-10-30 the three demonstrated modules were added to UNSAFE_IMPORTS on the vendor master branch (commit d011709) pending release; released versions through 0.1.12 remain affected, and the module-origin trust root cause persists, as demonstrated by the related CVE-2026-118938 remaining exploitable on that same build.1d

——0Shopper is a Headless e-commerce Admin Panel. Prior to 2.10.0, the Variants Livewire component in `packages/admin/src/Livewire/Components/Products/Form/Variants.php` exposes `DeleteAction` and `DeleteBulkAction` without server-side authorization. An authenticated staff user with `edit_products` can access `/shopper/products/{id}/edit` and obtain the signed component state even without `delete_product_variants`. The `callTableAction` and `callTableBulkAction` paths then permanently delete individual or multiple variants without checking that dedicated permission. For variant products, this can destroy the sellable catalogue and disrupt storefront product pages, cart, and checkout. This issue is fixed in version 2.10.0.1d

——0Immich is a high-performance self-hosted photo and video management solution. Prior to 3.2.0, the shared-link creation API accepted albumId and assetIds as independent fields in server/src/services/shared-link.service.ts but authorized only the resource selected by the requested link type. An authenticated attacker who already knew a victim-owned asset UUID could select SharedLinkType.Album for an attacker-owned album while supplying that UUID in assetIds; SharedLinkService.create() persisted the unchecked association in shared_link_asset and made the victim asset available through the new anonymous shared-link credential. This exposed victim metadata, thumbnails, and the byte-identical original file and created a persistent sharing relationship that could be redistributed. This issue is fixed in version 3.2.0.1d

——0ZAC is an open-source, workflow-based Common Ground component for Dutch municipal case management. Prior to 5.2.0, by-id read endpoints in `src/main/kotlin/nl/info/zac/app/zaak/ZaakRestService.kt` omit `assertPolicy`(`policyService.readZaakRechten(zaak).lezen`) authorization. `RequestAuthorizationFilter` and `hasAnyApplicationRole` require only an application role on any zaaktype, not the target case's type, while `zaak-rechten.rego` enforces the actual `zaaktype_allowed` boundary only when invoked. An authenticated low-privileged municipal user who knows a case or decision UUID can use `GET /rest/zaken/besluit/zaakUuid/{uuid}` (`listBesluitenForZaakUUID`) to read decisions including types, dates, and free-text toelichting; `GET /rest/zaken/besluit/{uuid}/historie` (`listBesluitHistorie`) to read audit old/new values; and `GET /rest/zaken/{uuid}/process-diagram` (`downloadProcessDiagram`) to read BPMN workflow state across unauthorized zaaktypes. The advisory also identifies `zaak/{uuid}/afzender` (`listAfzendersVoorZaak`) as exposing zaaktype mailbox configuration without a policy check. The search/_zoek path is correctly authorization-filtered and is not part of this by-id read cluster. This issue is fixed in version 5.2.0.2d
